uninstalled in safe mode. We're good now except i cannot stand this Samsung Keyboard. Want my old one back pero no issue!

Since you're on a stock based ROM, you should be able to use the built in data usage thing (Settings > Data Usage). You can set it to 500mb and keep track of it there. It will show you what apps are using it and I think you can even block specific apps from using data if they cause trouble.

Make sure auto-updating apps is set to WiFi only and you don't have WiFi at home/work? That saves tons of data for me.

hers wasn't showing hangout notifications and some messages weren't coming through but i fixed that by deleting Google Play Services (which came with gapps) and let it install from the Play Store. That took care of that issue.

I'll have to check and see if her gmail is syncing.

i'm thinking that i like my GNex enough that I'll probably get the Nexus5 when we move to TMo. I like the idea of a beast screen/battery on the Note3 but Nexus devices are just so easy to unlock/recovery/rom and always get updates right away. :chin:

if you are switching to tmo then whatever you get can be unlocked. they dont lock their shit down.
