Not too much, the most noticeable is the theme, wallpapers, and boot animation. Then there are extra settings in the stock settings menu and a Liberty Toolbox app.

Its Gummy plus extras. If you are on Gummy 2.5 then you don't have to wipe, just install over G2.5.

A rom. It removes all the Blur elements and makes the phone pretty much Vanilla android. It also has a modified Gingerbread theme, runs hella faster than stock, has all the bloatware removed, etc.

1. Download SBF file and RSDLite in case you fuck something up. The SBF can bring it back to stock.

2. Install z4root app to root your phone.

3. Install DX Bootstrap to flash the recovery.

4. Download Liberty to SD card via phone browser or computer.

5. Reboot into recovery, make a backup, wipe, flash rom.

6. Boot up fast, sexy DX.

A few notes: you have to be fully updated before doing this, but if you are stock I'm sure you've accepted the updates when they popped up so you'll be fine. This process will delete all your apps and reset all settings unless you back your apps up with Titanium or MyBackup. It will NOT touch your sd card so all your pics, music, ringtones, etc are safe.

I think thats the basics. We can help you find the files if you want to try it.

I get the liberty text that comes up, then it goes to the black screen with the program info. Can't seem to get it to catch.

Fuck it. After trying to totally wipe the phone three times which all failed, attempting to reinstall an update a half dozen times which all failed, and my trip to vegas coming up Monday I have decided to commit murder. I had no choice. Every once in a while a random ROM boot screen (liberty, or past) would come up showing that the phone was not in its original state and had been hacked. So.... now it's broke and will not turn on at all. A battery prong is separated from the circuit and placed back in the way that it's hard to tell that it was messed with at all. I thought about drowning it, but thats just a chance I couldn't take, I had to be sure. Poor little fella didn't even made it a whole year.

Okay guys I would like some advice here...

This summer I plan on being in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, mostly Garyville, Louisiana, but its extremely close to BR and NO, areas for an internship. These are supposed to be areas where 4G is supposed to implemented in the VZW timeline map. I have been waiting for the dual-core T2 phones devices, more so for the Vanilla Android Dual-core Mike has mentioned, or...the question being should I jump on a Bionic or other dual-core Android when they hit VZW? This is assuming they will be out in the summer-time.

Just pondering it in my head...

Its pretty much comes down to whatever you wanna do Cam. I honestly dont see dual core making a HUGE difference as Android isnt built around it. Now if the GPU was also dual core and we had BAMF games, video editing and what not that would actually use the resources it would be a different story.

As of now I don't think there are many details about the vanilla phone. So it just depends if you are willing to wait. I'm sure the Bionic will be one beast of a phone but it will be locked down to a point. I love my X even with lockdown but that doesn't mean you'll be okay with it.

So it's a trade-off. Get a BAMF phone with lockdown right away or get a Thunderbolt that is single core but still 4G and beast or wait and MAYBE get a vanilla phone.

Oh and mike mentioned dual core not making much of a difference, I think I'll agree. I know that this X at 1ghz has made me VERY happy. My D1 wasn't fast enough to KEEP me happy but I've never thought to myself "damn I wish this phone was faster" so honestly a 1.2ghz phone or something should be plenty fast enough.

But like mike said, if it increases graphics ability and games use it (as they are starting to) then its a plus in that aspect.

Hell Moto might have taken extra steps to make it even more locked down but maybe not. Thunderbolt is suppose to be really nice tho but its also only single core.

This is my biggest thing of concern though. Yes, there have been theories where dual-core is supposed to be help, but then again thats all a theory. The whole idea of a new phone makes me leary (sp?) because we all know technology is already out-of-date by the time it comes to the public. Just the way technology is though.

With my D1...it was rooted running CM ROM and setcpu profiles barely got through 1 days. It must have been the ROM doing that much damage? I had the screen turned down too.

Well it depends how you use it. I whore the shit out of my phone and I always get through the day. Unplugged at 6am, usually not plugged back in until 10 or 11pm. :shrug: This is on my DX but my D1 was pretty close to that also.

Even with your brightness all the way down, I bet the screen was at the top of your list anyway.

Email was the biggest thing...updated frequency every 5-15 mins. Does "pull" email have that much to do with battery life? Of course, I used SMS/MMS, and minimal on the phone part.

The only phones announced to release by then are the Tbolt, some Samsung phone and the Bionic. I think some non 4G phones will be coming too. Hopefully VZW doesnt charge extra for 4G if so then FTS. My bill was 100 a month which was ridiculous already.

Jay, Bionic is mad sexy but like Mike said, will haz lockdown. Hardware wise I like it the best. The lockdown thing makes me want an HTC/LG/Samsung instead though. We'll see what happens once they come out and we know how locked down they are and what issues they have (if any).
