Yeah its in settings somewhere but if you do that, I'd turn on root mode it whatever in advanced settings.

Newest PlayerPro update plays well with widgetlocker so I'm using it again :D

to remove le bloat, install Root Explorer

navigate to /system/app and you'll see all the stock apps, find the ones you want to remove and rename the extension from .apk to something else like .lol, .fgt, etc.

Now they won't be there anymore. In some rare occasions they will still be there after you rename them, if that happens, reboot the phone and they'll go away.

Right now there are only two roms based on the latest GB. ApeX is almost blurless, which is nice but I actually like a lot of blur stuff believe it or not. The other is Liberty which I don't even really want to try.

On D1 there were always several roms to try and CM and eventually MIUI. Damn bootloader fgtry. The quality of the X would have made it really popular with devs I think, had the bitch been unlocked.

How hard is it for me to completely go back to stock? I would like to keep me contacts and all that, but can I go back to stock... like no Gingerbread..just the stock os.

Stock is now Gingerbread officially but yeah you can go back to stock GB or Droto if you want. But you'll lose all your apps/settings/etc unless you back them up first. Then you'd have to root your stock install in order to restore it all.

Contacts are in the cloud so they are always backed up.

Oh and to do it, you just sbf that bish using the .340 or .596 sbf depending on if you want Froyo or GB. You'll end up with stock, unrooted.

Stock... it blew balls. Rooted with a few tweaks, I think my best has been over 30 hours with moderate to heavy usage and a good signal. Here lately mine has blown dick because for some reason I have shitty reception at home all of a sudden.

Just so you know, I'm changing my vote. Get rid of ComRom, try Evil Fascinate 3.6

It's pretty damn amazing. Very similar base build as ComRom, but seems (to most) to be more stable, just as snappy, and better battery life. I unplugged mine at 11pm Saturday night, and just plugged it back in at 2:15am Monday morning with 16% left. And yes, I used the shit out of it. Plus, the theme looks so much better if you're a fan of darker themes.

I unplugged mine at 11pm Saturday night, and just plugged it back in at 2:15am Monday morning with 16% left. And yes, I used the shit out of it. Plus, the theme looks so much better if you're a fan of darker themes.

I'm the same way. I like to keep it simple and non-flashy. EF3.6 in my eyes is perfect. It's 99% stock, just different colors. No crazy shit that I've found anyway.

CM7 is still being worked on... just still has a bunch of broken stuff.

The Fascinate has a slight learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad. The only golden rule.... DO NOT use the phone button in Odin. Ever. For any reason at all.

It's my understanding since it's already rooted, I only have to do this:

If you are already rooted with CMW 2.5.x.x or 3.0.x.x. installed follow these instructions:
Boot into CWM recovery
Select Wipe data/factory reset
Select Install zip from sdcard and select where you stored the rom
Screen will flash during install
Reboot phone after installation
If you are not voodoo you will be converted to voodoo during the bootup (do not be alarmed by the womans voice during installation)
Install complete!

Boot into CWM recovery
Select Wipe data/factory reset
Select Install zip from sdcard and select where you stored the rom
Screen will flash during install
Reboot phone after installation
If you are not voodoo you will be converted to voodoo during the bootup (do not be alarmed by the womans voice during installation)
Install complete!

Sounds right. Back everything up with some kind of backup app though or you'll lose everything with the data wipe. Personally, I only full wipe if I'm completely changing ROMs. I just flashed EF 3.6 over whatever version I had before and only wiped the caches. However if I was going to switch to ComRom, I'd do a full data wipe.

Also, the voodoo thing is pretty simple. You can use non-voodoo stuff, but you have to remember to change the setting in CWM to disable lagfix on next boot up.

Yes... just make sure it's compatible with the ROM setup you're running.

Comm ROM is GB themed. Evil Fascination is pretty much a straight kang thats been themed differently. All the master minds behind the Fascinate put together Comm ROM, its what I would use, or MIUI Wiz.

themes can be very specific, almost always different per phone and usually different per rom so go look for comrom specific themes

No, it was meant for the Fascinate on CR2.0. Unfortunately something about scripts not being compatible with CWM recovery came into play. I don't hate CWM, just unfamiliar with it since we never used it on the eris. My bad.

Anyway, wiped the caches and reflashed the ROM and all is well.

Didn't flash it. Just woke up to deuce and checked the thread. Looks like the main negatives are the camera and the gps is a little screwy. With some other little bugs thrown in. The cam I could deal with for a while, not sure about the GPS. I may try it tomorrow (today?) anyway lulz.

You don't need the screen capture app, JSYK. Hold the back button, then push and release the power button and it'll grab the screen.

I think we may have a daily-usable CM7 build coming shortly for the Fascinate if the "deep sleep" no wake issue gets resolved in the latest build. That's what I gather from being nosy with the developers on twitter andirc. I can certainly get around no gps or MMS right now as long as they can rig up something to allow calls and messages to come through when the phone isn't awake. Miss CM :emo:

from reviews of the DX2 it seems like the screen is the worst part because colors are a little off and things can look pixelly. But battery, speed, etc were fine if I remember right.

O love it, flashed a GPS fix and maps seems to work, haven't tries navigation yet. So the only issues I can think of are that the camera doesn't work (there are a few 3rd party ones that work) and the built in "torch" (flashlight) doesn't work but 3rd party ones still do.

:shrug: runs great though. Haven't had a reboot/crash/etc since I flashed it.
