Well I've been stuck with Blur builds and "de-blurred" builds until recently so I'm loving AOSP. Haven't had it since le D1. I flashed the latest OMFGB yesterday and then had to redo the transparent status bar. Tis back to sekz.

Nah I've been enjoying OMFGB too much. Plus it seems like every MIUI release has some sort of bug(s). I don't blame the dev porting it, it can't be easy working out bugs when you are porting a closed-source rom to our phones. Even with the bugs it's a badass rom but OMFGB is slim, fast, and bug free as far as I've seen while using it.

I like MIUI, this early release at least. My problems have been small, not anything super severe.

OMFGB, OMGB, MIUI, CM7, and Liquid are all 2nd-Init roms so you can flash back and forth over them. Just wipe data and cache and flash. You only have to SBF if you are going back and forth between 2nd-Init roms and roms based on Moto's gingy (.596, .603).

So since you're already on MIUI, you just need to make a backup in case you hate OMFGB then wipe/flash. Done. If you don't like it, restore the backup. No SBFing or going to certain versions of Android before flashing.

If it was open source (aka easier to smash bugs) then I'd probably still be on it. I'll probably end up on it again at some point. I love the stock apps, the theming, the notification drawer, etc. Besides the closed source and random bugs every friday that comes with it, I can't think of anything I didn't like on MIUI.

There have been reports or studies that show task killers don't really work on android.

I'm not sure what's wrong with your market but yeah, task killers are only good when an app gives you trouble and you want to quickly kill it. Otherwise they tend to make your battery life worse. Android does a good job at managing memory on its own.

Oh and it may take a little while but I'd go to http://Google.com/contacts and enter them all there. That way next time you flash they'll automatically sync.

Try going to settings > applications > manage then find the market, tap it, then hit "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache" if it lets you. Then try again. If that doesn't work, try reflashing the GAPPS. Maybe you got a screwy market apk somehow.

i used titanium backup to backup my main apps i used before, and out of the 7 i backed up 5 were perfect, 1 was installed but not working (market), and my one paid app, weather bug, failed to install. Also, idk where i saw it, but places recognize my phone as a sprint phone? :think: I have USCC :jester:

LOL yes that is why you are having problems. GAPPS stands for "Google Apps". GAPPS includes Market, GMail, Maps, etc. They don't come with CM7 for legal reasons so you flash them separately. You only restored your market .apk manually so you are missing the rest of GAPPS. Since you don't have the rest of GAPPS, you can't properly log on.

Nope, Mike is having the same feeling. That's how it goes until a new version of android or completely different type of rom or a device with something new, etc is available to you. Once you have flashed every rom you can and tried every app you can, there isn't much more to do besides keeping up to date with things.

That said, you would have hit that wall a LOT quicker if you'd had a BB or WinMo phone or something :roflmao: I'm not sure about iOS but with my Touch I remember hitting that wall pretty quick (jailbroke it, installed some themes, downloaded free apps, etc). That was a while ago though.

No camera flash

OIC Nao. Well the HD recording isn't new, I don't think any CM7/MIUI builds do HD unfortunately. Might be wrong though. The video, call volume, flash, and sdcard suck badly. The auto brightness I wouldn't have even noticed LOL I just go back and forth between dim and 100% since I rarely go outside.

As for the recovery access, that is the ONLY way you can get to recovery on a DX since it is a hijack. The button combo always goes to stock recovery no matter what rom, kernel, radio, etc you have. The only way to access recovery is with Bootstrap, RomManager, or with the roms Reboot options. So I'm used to that shit by now. If you can't boot and can't fix it via ADB then it's SBF time :jester:

I didn't want to remove mine every night either but I got used to it QUICK. I take mine off before bed and whenever I get in the car to use the dock. It's second nature now. Plus the TPUs come off super easty, they aren't snap ons or anything :down:. Also, I've been putting it on/off for months now and it isn't stretched or loose or anything so don't worry about that either.

You can try getting a small magnet and moving it around the back right where the hump is. Not on top near the camera but not down by the M, somewhere in between is where the sensor is.

Have you actually looked at a DX2 yet? Some people say the screen sucks, others say theres nothing wrong with them unless you hold it a couple inches from your face :jester:

Plus, dual core, thin, light, stable vs single core buggy POS that you hate.

Or you could sell the TB (CL/Swappa/eBay) for a couple hundred and buy a DX for less. They are stable, thin, light, etc like the DX2 but with a nice crisp screen. Only downside is it is single core.

Dude I've called them bitching constantly the last 2 weeks. Almost every day. If not bc of phone, b/c the fucking tower here in town doesn't work. I can open door, look at tower, and still has 0 bars. my phone, DX, INC, and fuckin GZone all do it. No service. Dropped calls, no zext send/recieve

Took TB to Verizon yesterday, They finally saw what I mean about my phone having crap service. I was standing in the store, every phone in there has full service. Mine had 1 bar at most.

You just starts a text and then press menu and hit attach :shrug: and as for camera settings, they are all on screen when the camera is open, just tap the icons. The top icon contains most of the settings.

You can get rid of stock apps using Root Explorer but be careful. Disabling some HTC stuff will make the phone go FC crazy.

Sounds like a rom issue. "Broken MMS" is an issue that lots of roms have when they first come out. There usually isn't a way to fix it until the dev or someone else releases a fix for it. :down:

MIUI and CM7 tend to be buggy unless you have decent Dev's behind it. I don't think your Desire gets much dev attention unfortunately. You may want to try roms based on the stock one. They usually take the stock rom, tweak it for speed, remove bloat, replace apps with more efficient ones, etc.

Just be sure it's for the bravoc aka USCC Desire and not for the GSM one.

On the X, I prefer OMFGB. CM7 is still nice but requires some "fixes" to get everything working. OMFGB just works and has some bamf options. Give me a few mins and I'll get some lankz for ya.

Download both to SD card, get in recovery, backup, wipe, flash rom, flash gapps, reboot, sekz.

To reboot into recovery on the X you have to use Rom Manager (or a rom that has the option in the power menu). After you flash a rom DO NOT use the Bootstrapper again. You won't need that anymore and using it could fuck shit up. :jester:

btw OMFGB doesn't have an extra category in settings like CM7. Instead, they ahve the God Mode app that has all the extra goodies they add. You can also use it to check if there are new nightlies out, change status bar settings, hide icons from the status bar, center the clock, battery bar, percent battery, etc, etc.
