I put a bunch of music from my computer on to my phone the other night. Can I play the music from my phone through my DNX 5140 head unit? I tried hooking the usb cable up from my phone to the head unit and my head unit doesn't recognize that anything is plugged in to the usb port.

Your stereo probably expects to see an iDevice or Mass Storage Device. If your phone is like the GNex, the internal memory is mounted as MTP instead of Mass Storage.

TL;DR: use Aux In

Eddeh has a GNex now, too bad foo rarely comes on here, could have sexy 4.2 :crossarms

yea i helped him out on cgm this morning.

:datass:

haven't been on cgm in forever, they took mah admin privileges away a while back since I went AWOL :roflpow

:crossarms:

Eddeh, just so you know, Unlocking will wipe everything on your phone. That includes internal memory, apps, etc. COMPLETE WIPE.

So, the easiest way to unlock and flash a rom on the GNex will probably be the Wugfresh Toolkit. It looks like this:

http://www.wugfresh.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/main_161_nex7.png

You should just hit the Change button on the left and set it to CDMA/LTE GNex and whatever version of Android your phone has on it (Settings > About Phone). Then click the Driver Guide button and get those bitches installed. Then you should be able to just hit Unlock and let it do its thing, you may have to follow some directions that pop up. Not sure, I did it manually.

Here is where you get the app: http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/

After the unlock is done, let us know and we'll get you links to a touch recovery and the rom we're using.

Mikes, any of you used the Toolkit?

Whenever they release a ROM that allows you to:

1. Have on screen navbar
2. Disable physical buttons
3. Hide navbar with power menu

You'll be good to go. Most custom Roms should easily allow those things.

I don't think there is AOKP and didn't look at jellybro since CM is missing stuff that I want. Also wanted the devil kernel so I just flashed Helly since it's the same dev. So far so good. Have about 380mb of RAM with around 130 or so free. I deleted tons of shit I didn't need too.

MikeH
12-29-2012, 08:51 PM
It's essentially CM with a few tweaks and different kernel. I can't compare to CM kernel though and that's why I was hoping the hippie would come in. It's crazy how well 4.2 runs on this phone though.

stonehenge
12-29-2012, 09:05 PM

Steve said he hasnt completely setup the device tree for le fassy yet though

stonehenge
12-29-2012, 09:22 PM
the only issue i've noticed in the thread was possible bluetooth screwiness (same with Hellybean) and issues with some 32gb sdcards. Neither of those matter to waify. Not sure which to flash.

For my reference:

Hellybean (http://www.hellybean.com/fassy42.html) (XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026139))
AOKP (http://androtransfer.com/?developer=stevespear) (XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2065499))
Jellybro (http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=cm10&device=fascinatemtd) (XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385624))

Was looking at roms and it seems like people have mixed feelings on Note II roms. The custom ones have themes, are a little faster, leaner, more up to date, etc but don't have the dual-apps, pop-up stuff, and s-pen.

But I think I read somewhere about CM on the first Note having S-Pen functionality so idkwtf
