Sounds like maybe part of your internal memory is corrupt or something since it is so random (FCs, letters missing, apps missing, texts missing, won't save settings, etc). I can't think of anything else if you went completely back to stock (I'm assuming stock ODIN is like an SBF).

Yea, it's essentially the same. The one caveat being AOSP use a different filesystem than stock since it's based on the nexus s. Hence the need to repartition every time you switch. Dunno what's up with it since it's done the same thing on stock and cm7 now.

So it's been formatted and repartitioned and its still doing that... sounds like internal memory problem. Have you tried running it without an sd card? I doubt a screwy sd card would have that kind of effect but FIDIL right?

Steve, you need to occasionally wipe the browser cache, Facebook or any other data heavy apps with AOSP roms. They fill up the /datadata partition and cause the problems you describe.

You might want to try the ICS build on rootzwiki. Everything works except video recording. It doesn't have the issues cm7 does, but it is plain AOSP.

Go for it. Just be sure to ODIN the stock EH03 2.3.5 package before you flash it, since the partition size is different than CM7. (it will prevent the FC issue)

Higher resolution (720p), newer operating system (4.0), bigger screen (4.6"), fully unlockable if you plan on modifying anything, and it is a Google phone. Google decides when updates push out, it will be updated more than any other phone. It also doesn't come preloaded with junk like others (Amazon, CityID, Kindle, Game demos, vz navigator, etc, etc). I think the only bloatware it comes with is MyVZW and maybe the Vcast Store. But Android 4.0 lets you disable stock apps :D

I've played with a RAZR and its not a bad phone but I think the Galaxy Nexus is better. I'd wait a few days and go check them both out in-store to decide. GNex should be out Friday I think.

I don't think any of the Nexus phones have been advertised much. I know VZW is going overboard with the simplicity but they probably don't have the kind of deals with Google/Sammy that they do with the DROID branded phones. Those get transformers commercials, giveaways, launch parties, etc.

We'll see, I suspect it will sell itself. Especially once other carriers get it and it is more popular overall.

Reviews look decent, it is essentially a fascinate with a keyboard, 4g, and a 4" screen. 1ghz is plenty fast enough, my wife doesn't watch movies, doesn't play 3d games, etc. She just wants a full qwerty and something that doesn't crash like the D1 :rofl2: 4G and a bigger sammy screen should be nice.

Went to BB and got waifu a Stratosphere. The white one was pretty sekz but she liked the black better.

So far she loves it and it seems like a pretty nice phone to me. So far its fairly snappy and the 4G is win. Screen is vivid as fuck, slider and keyboard feel good, etc.

A few parts of the TouchWiz are ugly to me but overall it's nice and she loves it. Plus, it was free.

Buy a Galaxy S or SII phone. They're on par with a Nexus in terms of being easily modifiable. You don't even have to root them to flash a custom ROM. The Nexus phones aren't totally "open" as you might think, still have the void the warranty on them (lol) to do anything. The Galaxy S is essentially a Nexus S in terms of hardware (minus CDMA/GSM) and nearly every ROM made for that phone can easily be ported over since they finally figured out how to re partition it to accept the NS filesystem.

For backups, also look at the BB Pearl 8130. Only like 25$ or less on eBay. Yes, its a BB, but to keep that data plan intact well worth it if you are worried about losing unlimited data.

Only reason that intrigued me as I found my old VZW 8130 today. Backups now consist of a BB Tour 9630 and a BB Pearl 8130.

I went back to CM7 after the fiasco with le Fascinate not wanting to work. Strange thing is it's been perfectly fine since I cleaned the PC board. Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting.

I would try out the newest CM9 build (12/11) but I really can't stand the UI with ICS. The functionality is good, but jebus it's ugly. I'm sure some of that has to do with no Voodoo kernel out yet for the Galaxy S phones so the screen gamma is all fubared.

Yeah that will fix it since it hasn't been like this since install but I don't really feel like doing anything with it :rofl2: I was hoping for a newer version of MIUI to come out so I'd have a reason to flash. That or a functional version of ICS.

I just uninstalled every app that I didn't need, will see if that helps. If not I'll flash something tonight. Either reflash this version, CM7, a blur-based rom, or I read something about a way to flash the latest version of MIUI using this old one as a base or some shit. Will look into that :chin:

1.10.21 is still up and it's stable. 1.10.28 was the last version released and it was pulled because of bugs.

There is 1.11.9 which is the 1.10.21 build with some of the 1.11.9 files thrown on top and some ICS files from another build. Frankenstein style.

Whelp the rom wouldn't take when I tried to load it and got stuck in a horrible boot loop after letting it sit for thirty minutes and three battery pulls. Got it back onto program and tried to flash 602 to it. It keeps failing. :fp2: Now its charging up again and I'll try to find a different version to SBF to.

Next time if you run into the bootloop, boot into recovery (stock is fine) and clear data (factory reset). That will usually fix the loop.

As for the SBF failing, I'm not sure wtf is going on there.

I cleared cache and reflashed the rom (left data alone) and my phone is still acting retarded. I might sbf it today or tonight and then either put 1.10.21 on it again or try CM7. Not sure yet.

It could be my sd card too :chin:

it just say searching for phone, connect now if not connected. Ive downloaded all the drivers yet again, and bounced between all the settings (USB charge only, PC etc like it says to) and I have enabled debugging. :wat:
