I was doing that but everytime I rebooted my phone it would resend out the last like 20-25 texts that I had sent. So I would reboot and everyone would txt me shit like "WTF dude you just sent me like 15 texts at once and they were all ones from yesterday!" :roflmao:

At least I think it was SMS Popup causing it somewhow. Not sure though, I removed everything even remotely involving SMS to make sure it wouldn't happen again. Using stock app and no pop ups.

I'll play with SmartKB a little while, I like some of the extra options it has but if I mistype too much then I won't hesitate to go back to BetterKB.

I also like having a popup but the restart resending is retarded and I haven't been 100% happy with the popups on Chomp/Handcent, I can't remember why though :rofl2:

I was gonna attempt to open the chomp.apk to change the pop-up but then I read I would have to resign it and what not. So to say the least I said fuck it and didn't do it.

You can do it without resigning if you do it a certain way.

- Rename the apk to .zip
- OPEN the zip file, NOT extract it. Use 7zip or something that lets you look inside the archive.
- Drag the .png files you need to change onto your computer.
- Edit them
- Drag them back into the zip file (using 7zip)
- rename back to apk
- move the apk from /data/app to /system/app
- done.

You will run into problems if you try to extract it all and then zip it back up yourself. Just use the original zip and put your files in it. And for some reason it will only work in /system. At least from my experience.

- Install from the market/apk
- Move apk to computer
- Edit that bish
- Move apk to /system/app

and it showed up after that.

It changes settings back and everything in /system but your apps remain installed and linked to the market and whatnot. But you'd need to reactivate the phone real quick.

When you installed RSD Lite, did you move that one file (I think it was a .bin file) to the installation directory? Also, do you have RSD Lite 4.7?

The update.zip SHOULD work from the stock recovery. I haven't tried it yet though.

I didnt move any file. I see there is an extra one called pst_flash.

You can flash the update since you flashed clockwork. I tried a fix someone posted but did it with Root Explorer and not cant get bast the M on boot.

the pst_flash file goes into the RSD Lite folder so that it can recognize the X. It's in Program Files/Motorola I think

NICE, I haven't done it yet. I did the stock theme zip file and I moved su but I haven't tried the froyo zip yet. So you moved su to xbin and used the froyo update.zip and now you're on rooted 2.2?

Those with logwrapper problems. You don't need to reflash.

You need to connect via adb and remount your system folder with rw permission.

Go to /system/bin

remove the hijack link to logwrapper and rename logwrapper.bin to logwrapper.

I was extra safe and made a backup of hijack, logwrapper, and logwrapper.bin. Then I:
rm logwrapper
cp logwrapper.bin logwrapper

Then exit adb.

Currently flashing now.

Ok guys, if you're getting the error from Installing Koush's recovery, follow these steps, no ADB rquired, just Root explorer.

Open Root Explorer

Go to the System folder

Go to the Bin folder

Tap the button in the upper right corner to mount RW (This lets you edit files in there)

Scroll down and find the file called hijack, long press and delete it.

Scroll down to the file named logwrapper, longpress and delete it.

Directly underneath that is a file named logwrapper.bin, long press and RENAME it to just logwrapper (so take off the .bin at the end)

Tap the button in the upper right to mount as RO again

Reboot into recovery and apply the update!

I think an SBF will take us back down to 2.1, yeah. I just finished renaming bloat, gained like 20mb of ram lol and then i setup the bootstrap again, now it is rebooting. hopefully its a little faster now, i was noticing a little slowness :(

I'm not getting errors or anything but the unlock slider seems slow, scrolling in apps and the applist seems slow (with LP even!), the gallery seems slow as balls, etc. Not Eris slow but definitely slower than 2.1 was. :(

Yeah mines that doing that anymore. It stopped after I flashed SuperUser. It might not be related to that but it seems normal since.

ohhh okay, I like LP too much :cheeky:

as for superuser, I went into Rom Manager > Download ROM > Extras > Superuser 2.3.1 ef > Download > checked Backup Existing ROM > OK > OK to reboot.

Then it reboots into recovery and the progress bar gets 1/4-1/2 and then it says "Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0" device or resource busy, can't mount sdcard, etc. :blahclap:

I don't know where the newer bootstrap is, so I just grabbed the one from Koush's site and reinstalled it and did the "bootstrap recovery" option again. Then I rebooted into recover on my own and manually applied the zip file from /clockworkmod/download/etc/etc and it worked. Gallery is still slower than a bag of dicks on a thursday though.

Well I think you can go to the apk with root explorer and long press and send it, I know you can with Linda. To receive it, I'll have to install an app though. Let me go find it. It lets you download attachments from gmail instead of just "Preview".

Ok, this turned out to be quite a bit easier then I thought. Quite a few things that still need to be worked out as right now can turn HDMI VIDEO/AUDIO on. I haven't got HDMI shutting down properly yet so am crashing the X when turning it off. I "think" I can enable HDMI audio out without enabling video output. Which would be nice for home stereo use.

So for the juicy details:

Audio out via HDMI: Yes
Video out via HDMI: Yes
Root Required: NO
Android Version: Tested on Stock Droid X 2.1
BlockBuster App Video out: ???? (not sure yet, have to put it back on phone)

If all goes well hope to have a widget or app on the market place in the next week. No clue yet if this works on Froyo on the Droid X, as I have one phone and can't afford mucking it up.

Well in Chomp you can hold down on a contact and choose Blacklist. Can't in stock though. :(
