so Titanium was restoring my apps while the market was restoring the free/purchased ones at the same time. Somehow shit hit the fan and the phone kept bootlooping (soft bootloops of the boot animation over and over) pulling the battery caused it to boot up fully but once the SD mounted, it went into bootloop again. So I pulled the SD and the phone would boot up fine. Put it back in and bootloop once it mounted. :blah: I wasn't home so I had to roll SDless.

When I got home, I deleted the Android and .android folders from my SD and now it boots. :cheeky:

i like the way i can set up the battery display thing. i set it so that its a narrow bar at the top of the taskbar thing. when its full it goes from both sides. as it drains it goes down to the left and changes colors when its almost off

I like the size/weight of it better. Yeah its made of plastic but it also doesnt feel like you are lugging a brick. The screen is a lot better than the lcd on the X. Colors are so much brighter.

The only thing that bugs me (not sure why) is the new kernel included overclocks to 710mHz stock. it ran fast and perfectly at 604 on the previous version. This thing is always warm running at 710.

You haz two options. One is to use Titanium Backup. You run it before you wipe and it backs up your apps. Then run it afterwards and it restores them. This is the best way because it also backs up and restores your data not just the app. The way you did it just now won't remember any settings/saved items/etc in your apps. Titanium will.

If you don't care about it saving your appdata then you can just use a filemanager (Linda, Root Explorer, etc) to go into the applanet download folder and click the apk files one by one to install them.

Chriz, this. You might end up moving apps to your SD or using it for music or whatever. I keep a couple nandroid backups and some of my most used APKs also, which adds up after a while.

I know Mike. I'd rather just keep the overclocking to a minimum to help conserve battery and such. Yesterday I got 4 hours on a charge. Lack of coverage FTL. The display is eating up like 70% of that from moderate use. (ie-picking it up every couple of minutes) It's set on auto so it's rarely ever full brightness. I need an extended battery something awful :jester:

Yeah the display is always what uses the most battery. Even with shitty signal, gps on, bluetooth on, etc the display is still almost always at the top. I don't remember how bright the Eris was but setting it to a low brightness will save more battery than auto. But when you get out in the sun you'll have to manually up it to see WTF is going on :rofl2:

CM7 v1.4 released today for the eris. It included a gps fix but I never had problems with mine, plus they changed the launcher to something I hate. Lol. May just skip this one for now. It's too much of a PITA to restore everything since Titanium won't cooperate on this rom.

Chris, you can also try MyBackup Root. I don't like it as much as Titanium and it seems to take longer to back everything up but it worked for me once on a ROM that Titanium didn't like.

But like Mike said, you don't HAVE to wipe every time. Most roms don't require it unless it is a major version change or you are going to a different rom.

This is why I did a full dalvik/data wipe before installing v1.3 yesterday. Lots of people had issues just writing over the previous version.

I'm mainly sticking with v1.3 right now because it's rock solid, my gps works (didnt work for some, hence the v1.4 release with a gps fix) and I really do not like the new launcher theme that was included.

Don't do it. You are already having trouble making your battery last, don't get a phone KNOWN for its bad battery life. If you want to continue rom hoaring get a Fascinate or D1. If you want beast phone and not as much roming, get a DX or D2.

Since you don't like spending money, the D1 may be the way to go or possibly a fascinate ($200-300).

But yeah, the Inc is a nice phone but the battery is shit.

Yeah if you ignore the battery it is a pretty nice little phone. My coworker had one and it was pretty nice. The only issue was that damned battery. He bought a larger one and bump charged it and it still died faster than my D1 and X.

I guess it may help to get the MASSIVE battery and bigger back plate but I'm not sure because HTC batteries > Seidio batteries.

The Moto phones are built really well but are locked down :( except the D1, its fully open but starting to show its age and DO NOT buy one from Yaybo, he be had luck.
