I've never used a Zune or WP7 phone but it looks like a knock off of something those would use. That said, it is really fast, the interface is clean, and I kinda like it.

It still needs a lot of work to compete with PlayerPro/Winamp/Songbird/PowerAmp though (Widgets, more settings, lockscreen, etc.)

The phone is 199 with sprint, but they are also doing a 125 per line switched thing, so I could have 250 for both the phones switched over, and, Sprint's website isnt showing that I have to pay an activation fee.

I've been trying out different browsers. Opera Mobile (not mini) is really nice bit it is missing simple shit like "open in new tab" even though it has tabbed browsing and no way to longpress a link to copy it. Ratard status.

Yeah I was using Dolphin HD Beta 2 and it would randomly not load pages and shit so I think I'm going to go back to the normal version on the market. Works betta.

Miren was decent but the User Agent doesn't appear to work right and it felt a little slow when scrolling.

K I have a question

Jen has a Droid 2 global. It pretty much died.
So she got a new one in the mail. She wanted to take all her old texts and move them to the old phone. So before we deactivated the one one, I installes SMS Backup & Restore. I made a backup (over 7K messages).

Then we activated the new phone. I downloaded the same app, and did a restore.
It took about an hour to restore them all. When it was done, as soon as you opened the message app, it would freeze the phone. Lock it to where it was unuseable. So I installed
GO Sms on the new one and it will open the mesasges, but they are all in a fucked up order.

Is there an easier way to do this? I think SMS Backup & Restore is messing things up.

Mac's are nice because they are fairly trouble free, have great hardware, the OS looks fairly nice, and almost anything you can get on Windows has a Mac alternative.

Windows is nice because everything is available on Windows. :jester:

If you want to try Linux, it is easy to test without making any changes to your computer. Download a LiveCD, burn it, and boot to it. It will load Linux from the disc and let you see what it's like. I'd suggest LinuxMint or Ubuntu. They are really user friendly and don't require much Linux knowledge at all.

Yeah sometimes installing something on Linux can be more than double clicking an executable like on Windows/OSX. Same with fixing any issues you run into. I find Linux fun though.

Also, very few games for Linux if you play any computer games.

The good thing about Linux/Windows is that they easily cohabitate. Just dual boot them bishes.

You can get into ADB, transfer files, etc with a Mac (I use one at work), you just can't SBF. I like Macs and IMO the OS is a lot cleaner and troublefree than Windows or Linux, but if I was buying a new computer/laptop, it wouldn't be a Mac simply because I know Windows. I know what apps there are for it, I know how to do everything on it. It isn't the best OS around but it's what I like.

That said, I ran linux for a while and the only program I missed was Photoshop, although GIMP filled its place pretty well. The only reason I went back to windows was for gaming. I haven't decided but I may put some form of Linux on my laptop when it comes in.

Be sure to flash the right one. The deodexed/odexed ones are for anyone on a GB leak (.588, .591,.595) and shouldn't require wiping data or anything. The patched update.zip one is for phones running rooted Froyo (.340). The full stock version is for unrooted phones and will result in unrooted GB, which currently can't be rooted.

The very last ForestFix.zip just adds a live wallpaper that was ripped from the DX2.

Tried that 3D plugin app and Riptide. Game played but textures were completely fucked. Mostly black and all scrambled and shit.

Its all personal preference. The screen is suppose to be sub-par tho.

I, possibly Juan, was talking about the LG Revolution more than anything. Those are more so the CDMA dual-core phones.

The DX2 is dual-core too, but I haven't read any reviews on it yet. Juan and Mike may have.

I called Verizon Thursday.

Told them my problems with Tbolt
They said that it was HTC's problem, and giving me a new phone would not fix the problem. That I could do a factory reset and it should not reboot anymore, but until HTC released a patch for the stupid software update they had a few weeks ago, I was shit out of luck.

Im pretty convinced that the Nexus s is an awful phone. I can stand next to my buddy who has a droid on the same service provider as me where he is showing strong voice and data receiption.

I look at mine, and I am getting NOTHING. Called a sprint repair center and will end up taking it by there sometime this week for them to look at.

Fiance is having the same issues I am, same phone.

After more digging, there are a ton of complaints describing what I am experiencing right now with the Nexus.

So i called homeboy at the store I bought this from and I am going over to the Epic. Looking at real world performance between the Epic and the Nexus, the Epic walks all over the Nexus, all because the Nexus has a cheap radio.

Yea, but ATT version doesnt run on WiMAX. So im sure the radios between the two are different.

The DX2 not being 4G is not a big deal for me, considering 4G probably won't be available here for another couple of years (according to VZW website). Haven't looked at Revo or Charge. After my HTC Incredible, I'm not sure about HTC phones now.

Juan, i love me Fascinate now with the Froyo, seems to run better and be more stable. I'm sure you'll hack yours so I can imagine how much better w/ a decent rom it may run. I love the thin profile and screen hence the reason I opted for it over the Dx.

Only things I might miss from the DX are more ram, bigger screen, build quality, and umm that's it. Shouldn't miss the extra internal memory or HDMI and other specs are pretty much the same.

in others words Wubi is the shit if you want to run linux along side of windows. it installs it like a regular application so its easy to install/uninstall. only downfall is you can only dedicate up to 30GB for it.
