Not sure how long it took to crack the EVO or other newer devices on different carriers. It could just be that VZW doesn't want to lose money so they don't want people to hack their phone. Thus leading us to these phones with locked bootloaders and shit.

UPDATE: Just after MrPicolas posted this, news broke that this phone has a rootkit included which can wipe your phone back to its original state should you tamper with it and put say, a custom ROM or something on it. Basically any custom or user change made to the source code can be overwritten each time the phone is booted. If the Inc had a big screen, I'd think about trying to acquire one and get a bigger battery but everytime I use my wifes Droid, I instantly want my X's screen back. I'll be keeping it until something major happens with phones. Whether that is a nice Tegra 2 on VZW, or LTE comes to Tucson and isn't overly esspensive, or someone else releases a really nice 4"+ phone, or a BAMF new version of Android comes out.

Or all of the above in one phone :cheeky: 4.3", Tegra 2, LTE, Android 3.0 or something, etc? Brb fapping.

The main line gets an upgrade after one year for discounted pricing but the 2 yr upgrade is when you get the 2year price which is lowest. Unless you got a 1yr contract like mr.Mike.

HOWEVER, I got my X wiht my wifes upgrade. ALSO we have a 3rd line which is already eligible for upgrade :drool:

So it is highly unlikely I'll have this phone the full 2 years but I will keep it for now. It is a great phone, it just doesn't haz the haxability I would have liked :(

So if I really get tired of the X, I can upgrade in July. I plan on keeping it for quite a while though. Highly doubt I'll trade it for a fascinate because I like the phone and I like insurance. If something crazy happened and VZW/Asurion wanted to replace my X with an Inc or Fascinate, I'd have to think about it really hard :hmm:

all i did is root and oc my factory 2.2 to 800 mhz and let it ride.
so far it works very well. no instability issues and battery life is great. i do have it set on performance 800 max, 800 min in setCPU.
i guess i need to install a kernel and go ahead and juice it up to 1k

That is pretty odd. Did you try reflashing Clockwork? Go into ROM Manager and go to all recoveries and try flashing an older one maybe.

You could also try flashing SPRecovery. You won't be able to have Rom Manager automatically install anything but at least you might be able to get a rom on that bish.

I can only do the in-ear that have the really soft "cushions" on them. The skull candys are a really thin silicone and they feel good in my ears. I don't like iPod/iPhone style ones and the ones with the foam cushions are OK but they hurt my ears after a while, like you said.

Most of my time is spent in Murray, Kentucky, for school and Mt. Zion, Illinois for home. Neither of which are close to LTE proposed cities, 2.5 hours to Chicago or 2 hours to St. Louis, from home. Murray is about 3 hours to St. Louis and probably close to 8-9 hours to Chicago.

i went back to Gala X, didn't like Incognito after a while. It is nice and clean but too plain. I like having hints of color like GalaX or droptheme. Might try the orange incog though.

I like clean and simple but I gotta have a LITTLE color. That's why I like Gala. The icons are clean and simple, the bar at the top is clean and simple, but it still has some colored accents. :shrug:

The cleanness of Incog was great, I just needed some color somewhere. If the orange version had a little more orange in the icons or scrollbars or something then I'd try it out.

Well people need to realize that GSM/CDMA are both old-school technology types in terms of cellular coverage and types.

Its sad to say it too, but once the CDMA iPhone comes out......not sure how the Android market is going to get affected. Now matter what there will always be followers, but we will see how VZW wants to force that POS down the necks of consumers.

Android has made VZW a lot of money, I don't see them shitting on it if they get the iPhone. Plus, I'd say that most Android users don't want an iPhone. Some only have Android because there is no cdma iPhone but many DNW.
