Yea, I've seen stuff on both Sky and CM6 over on XDA. Virtuous is a pretty much non-bloatware sense ROM, with a few extras. IDK, gotta wait anyway so I'll keep an eye on it.

Trevor, out of the current Droid phones I prefer the X. But I might be biased. If you need a keyboard then the Droid2 is best but has a lower camera, no hdmi, and smaller screen.

Mike, I still don't think blur is horrible. Yeah I want vanilla but I honestly like some blur apps better than stock (the camera & email) and the others are so noninvasive that they don't bother me. I just wish you could remove unused parts.

Well, got up this morning and I couldn't make calls. I ended up making backup....restoring an older backup....then restoring my backup that I just made.

This worked....just not sure what caused it in the first place.

There have been three versions of Tranquility and I think another version of FlyX since you've been back here lol

I don't have any movies on mine but I'd use Handbrake if I wanted to convert any. It is free and does a good job. It also lets you set up a queue of videos. So you can put like a whole series of tv shows into the queue and start it before you go to bed or something.

Tranquility is almost all vanilla Android. i think the only Blur things left in it are the Dialer, Camera, and maybe Calendar now.

You dont need a plan with the Archos. Samsung is coming out with a 7" but you need a plan or pay retail which will be like $600 more than likely. If Moto comes out with one it will also more than likely be on a plan cuz thats where all the $$$ is. I hate having to get my laptop out, turning it on, waiting for it to start up just to do some web browsing. The Archos will be perfect and its priced good. I can justify 300 but not the 600 for the iPad like you said.

Mike told me this Droid thread is more updated than the one at GMFS.

I was telling him I've been getting horrendous battery life lately.

The CM6-RC3 ROM has been cool, but I'm beginning to believe it's really fucking up my battery life.

I don't know what the deal is. I just ordered an OEM battery off Amazon for $4, so we'll see if that helps. But I literally can't get through a 12 hour day without my battery dying

I would seriously look into an extended battery. Before I got mine my X would barely make it through the day as I'm a heavy user but now it at least lasts me til I go to bed.

It could also be CM but haven't you been running it for a while? Has your battery just recently gone to shit or has it always been like that?

Like MIke said, an extended battery would help and the new D2 extended looks much better than Seidios version.

Also, turn off gps and bluetooth when you aren't using them. They can be battery hogs sometimes.

Do you guys know where I can get a stock kernel to flash on my D1 with CM6?

I do not feel like reflashing CM6, as my settings/screens will be affected. All my kernels I have used seem to force close ADW....and its real irritating.

Or should I just reflash CM6, and redo my screens and settings? Since we know CM ROMs do not like OC'd kernels, and I have thus found out why. :fp:

Get Titanium backup, tell it to backup all your User apps and settings. Then reflash CM6 and tell it to restore it all. Works great.

btw when I ran CM it had no problems with OC'd kernels. Maybe CM6 is different or something but I had mine running great at 1ghz with the older CM on my Droid1.

Stock kernel more than likely wouldnt work either. There are probably things built into the kernel that are needed to run CM.

Try running a stock build or a different ROM and see what happens.

The D1 isn't available anymore unless you find it used or refurbished or something. Since you need a keyboard, the D2 is your only option right now unless you want to wait for the new HTC that has a keyboard, but no one knows when that will be out.

Wow I thought they were all gone by now. The D1 can be 100% unlocked including the bootloader. That and the fact that it is black are the only advantages to it.

The D2 has a faster processor, more internal memory, more ram, an improved keyboard, improved headphone jack, FM radio, and it may have a better camera, I'm not sure, it may be the same.

So the D2 is a better phone but the bootloader is still locked. That doesn't prevent rooting and loading roms, just prevents loading kernels. Me and Mike have Xs that are VERY similar to the D2 and we are rooted with themes and custom roms and whatnot.

I'd go with the D2.

Still debating between tablet or netbook though. Tablets are nice because they are smaller, lighter, and better battery life. The netbook is better because of the keyboard and the ability to install different OSes and shit. Not sure yet :hmm:

I'm scared because it has the same processor as our Xs (i THINK) but it has to render a lot more pixels and stuff on the screen and whatnot so I'm not sure how fast it will be. But judging by the video that came out a while ago, it is pretty fast on 2.1, and 2.2 should be faster (maybe).

That is what my coworker has been doing with his Inc for months lol. He said it really helps.

So the issue is that something in HTCs code doesn't allow the battery to charge to 100%, it gets to like 85% or 90% and then stops. You have to turn it off to get the last few %. :fp:

Yeah, I am pretty die-hard....more for the email ability, reliability, and battery life of the BB. Just hope the 9700 or 9800 make its way to VZW. I still have my upgrade avaliable....just not sure if I will use it for the newest android device coming soon.

Now I just have to figure out how to change GMAIL accounts while still keeping the same applications downloaded....help?
