I'm thinking of setting Vignette to default. It's fairly quick and you can set it to just save the shot like a normal camera instead of opening the customization screen everytime. :hmm:

Can you pull the AOSP camera from CM if you have a build laying around ? It has a bunch more settings. Also you can toggle autofocus which makes a huge difference in picture quality.

Well when I said AOSP I meant that one. The OMFGB one has the Touch focus option too. There is Infinite, Macro, Auto, and Touch. It works pretty well, I just miss the nice Blur one.

The problem is there isn't a directory somewhere with 4000 files that you can go into and delete them little by little. They are all in one big database file as far as I know. So these apps and the sms app are the only way to get to them. :blah:

All SMS and MMS messages are stored in a single database file named mmssms.db located in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases

I guess you could try using a terminal emulator to rename that database. If it automatically rebuilds a new empty one then you'd be good to go. Since it's in /data/ you shouldn't need root to do it either.

Install a terminal emulator from the market and run these commands:

cd /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
mv mmssms.db mmssms.db.bak

Then reboot it. If you get errors or something then you can put the db back with:

cd /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
mv mmssms.db.bak mmssms.db

Some of the devs that work on Fascinate stuff might be doing a new version of ComRom (mike knows what i'm talking about) with the latest GB release. This one doesn't seem to have the SD card nomming issue. Would be bamf is they get around to it.

The biggest thing is the battery life. Literally double any of the AOSP roms.

Yeah the blur-based roms on the X get bamf battery life while somehow also being pretty damned fast

but they don't have all the pimpness of AOSP roms (theme manager, battery bar, lockscreen replacements, etc, etc)

Need to borrow PC or laptop to re-ODIN me phone so I can use an RFS rom again. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU. My laptop doesn't recognize the phone in download mode. :( Pretty much narrowed it down to a hardware issue with the laptop itself. Before it stopped working altogether it would fail/then work/hang/etc before it finally stopped recognizing the phone at all. Even after installing W7 it still won't work. :rofl: Always says "this device has malfunctioned." At least me work PC still does fine.

No roms really have huge crazy features. MIUI is about as extreme as you'll get. Any other rom is usually just a nice base (either based on vanilla/AOSP or a stock rom like Sense, Blur, etc) and then tweaked to remove crap, speed things up, add a few little features people want, etc.

go to dialer, you have 2 options. Dial the actual number or go to contacts and find the person.

With a t9 dialer you can press the numbers that correspond to the letters in someones name. If I hit 645, it will show Mikes name (as well as 645 in case i am dialing a number)

No, but my blackberries all ended up having that problem. But I would try to hop out of the truck and forget it was still plugged into the charger all the time so I'm sure that's what caused it. Im sure you have tried different cables with the same effect?

Okay, FU MIUI. My root access is gone (yes I did the tools, superuser on thing) and now if I go to text, new text and try to pick a contact, it only gives me 15 contacts. I can't type people names in or nuthin. I have to go to contacts, find who I want to send it to, and then select text. BULLSHIT!

hmm check your SMS app settings. Most likely what is happening is that the option to "Show Only Mobile Contacts" or whatever is turned on and your contacts aren't all formatted correctly so some probably say Work, Home, etc instead of Mobile.

I always have the craziest problems. Think I should try to reload the ROM? Programs are still saying they dont have root access, even after turning on superuser (under tools, SU, settings)

For my camera, all I did was switch the camera picture resolution and it worked. From the beginning, the pics are set as some real high resolution, e.g. 1080 or similar. I selected a smaller resolution, e.g. like 720, and it works now.

No patches.

Yeah pick ANY other resolution besides the default widescreen one and it will work.

Nevermind I just read the thread. That new build of MIUI doesn't let you charge your battery, always reads 100%, and has been giving people problems. Some that flashed without enough battery ended up bricking once the battery died inside MIUI. :fp:

Thats what I was thinking...if it has a keyboard, thats a definite kick in the nuts. I used to love my keyboard on my BB, but the DX is big enough (about same width as BB), and would not go back to physical keyboard now. Let alone the D1, D2, D3 keyboards are all awkward to type.

Look at the Droid Pro, it was somewhat of a bust in terms of android phones. Of course it was based towards the BB business crowd, but still a keyboard android that didnt sell real well.

They keyboard thing is weird though because every other Nexus was one form factor and didn't change. They didn't have keyboard versions. I think the only change with the previous Nexus phones was the NS4G. And that was internal. Different "flavors" and keyboards sounds more like a Galaxy than a Nexus. :think:

IDGAF what it is called or if other carriers get keyboards and shit but I just hope VZWs is KB-less, vanilla ICS, 4G, and sexy fast.

As far as I can tell, these are the current "bugs" with the GB kernel version of MIUI:

- 10% Increments
- Green LED on while charging
- Hard keys are brighter than usual
