Nowhere local had the OEM Verizon Samsung Extended Battery and Door, so ordered it from VZW for $26ish shipped with 2-day shipping. If any place local had it in, I was tempted to go pre-order a 32gb SIII in white as well. Oh well.

Since you are battery life hoar, you could still carry the standard battery around in your backpack/pocket/anos and then swap them out if you happen to kill the extended.

but srsly for $199, sounds bamf. It will have TouchWiz instead of vanilla ICS and probably won't get YellyBean as quick as the GNex but it has a nicer camera and faster processor/ram than the GNex.

Plus, I'm guessing it will get a pretty good amount of dev attention so roms and whatnot shouldn't be lacking. Would roll.

Hardware buttons will probably stay forever Wan. One thing about the S3, unless someone figures out the Samsung RIL you'll be 3G only for AOSP roms. The only other LTE phone from Samsung that had any dev scene was the Charge, and no one, not even JT, could make the radio work. It'll be a ridiculous challenge for anyone to do it. Just getting AOSP on the CDMA S1 was tough enough.

Side note, I've been running Devil Kernel today and it's bamf.

It's different though when the button is as big as it is. Also screen on SGSIII would feel smaller if had navbar. They have to one up HTC and the One X.

Its my understanding the linaro toolchain is already being used in a few kernels, but not on the rom side of things. Lots of hopes were dashed in the Fassy forums when it was revealed a couple of kernels were already using it. :lol: Can't tell a difference honestly.

it backs up all the rom settings.

I picked up a cheap straight talk Att phone to check out coverage, and just like I figured they do NOT use the full network, it basically follows the GoPhone coverage area which is much smaller. With this racket scheme Verizon is pulling I'm probably going to switch to ATT. They may lack coverage but I'd get a better deal with 3GB instead of 2 with Verizon, and I'm eligible for an employee discount so it'd be like $84 for 450 minutes with rollover, unlimited text and 3GB of data and HSPA+ with a regular Galaxy SII, not the Skyrocket. It has AOKP so that's all I really care about. I'm good on this plan until the first week of July then Verizon is forcing me off of unlimited. They will never get another dime of my money.

when me and waifus contracts are up, I'll be thinking hard about switching to ATT or TMo. I do like VZWs coverage and the fact that most people we know are vzw so I can get away with less minutes. That's it tho.

If not then download OTA Rootkeeper and store a copy of root then temp unroot and try installing again. If it works then after booting up go back into Rootkeeper and restore root.

Are you on B39? If so, I'd flash a kernel. They accidentally built it with the CM kernel instead of the usual faux kernel. There are some issues with brightness and other weird things that can happen.

i think brightness issues and no fast charge were the main screwy things. I didn't notice any problems either but I flashed a kernel after some people reported problems to avoid running into anything.

They fit a little tight with the extended battery but not bad. Only downside is there are no cutouts for the buttons. The white one presses on the power button a little too much. The headphone cutouts are a tiny bit too small for my aux cable too.

Might need to get out le exacto and mod these bishes. Idk if I trust myself tho, might look like ass.

They are different. Came from the same auction though lol. The blue one has textured sides like your meizu one. The white one has a line running down the side. Their cutouts and buttons are slightly different too. Blue one fits best but I like them both, especially for $2 each LOL

I tried ICSourcery. A couple nice touches like MIUI style carrier in statusbar, a browser for navbar icons, battery icons, etc.

But damn is it cheesy. The icons in their menus are ghey, the bootanim plays hair metal while Andy pops out of a hat with colored smoke... oh and the default notification is some bish whispering" Sourcery" that scared the shit out of my wife last night LOL

I haven't had problems with it on Windows but it sucks on the Mac. SDcard was always slow as dicks when I'd copy to it on the dx tho.

Wtf mine doesn't do any of that shit. Only time I had problems was that /sdcard/sdcard problem. I think that was androids problem though.

You should try a samba share app. Then you just map the drive from your computer.

ok, my phone now kinda thinks it is in portrait and kinda thinks its in landscape. Everything shows up in portrait orientation except the notification pulldown only comes down to ~half the screen (about as far as it should go if the phone was landscaped) and the toggles go off the side of the screen (stretching out nice and wide for landscape).

ICSourcery plz go. Gonna try Rascream (rom made by the Trinity gai AFAIK)

oh and I modded the white case. Made an opening for the power button, made the headphone jack hole a little larger, and cut slits in the side of the volume buttons to make it more flexible there. Turned out fairly good. A couple of the sides aren't 100% smooth but I'll fix that when I get an exacto, had to use a razor blade.

fast and smooth but upon entering le settings, I notice there is no Themes or added settings whatsoever.

Actually I just found navbar and lockscreen settings in the Display section but thats it. There are toggles in the pulldown but I don't see any way to change which ones show, the order, or the style. I guess massive on/off switches for wifi, bt, gps, and rotation are my only choice O_o

I used MiLocker and WL on GB and they worked pretty well. I remember not liking them when I tried them on the GNex though. I can't remember if it was how they worked with ICS or if it had to do with most of the themes not playing well with xhdpi. :hmm:
