I'm not saying it is a POS by any means but compared to the GNex, the only upgrades are the quad-core and a gig of ram. Screen resolution is about the same, internal storage is the same (or more on the gnex if vzw), camera samples haven't looked as good as the gnex, same size battery as our extended, :shrug:

No they aren't. They do roam but not on all towers. That's why AT&T has more coverage than TMo. If they shared all their towers, they'd be exactly the same. Sprint is definitely not sharing all of VZWs towers either, my dad had Sprint and it was nowhere near as good as VZW.

Plus, on the prepaid plans that Mike and now Cez are using, they won't roam, they only use the towers from that company (afaik).

Follow Mikes link below, he posts new builds every other day or so. It's mostly stock CM10 with a few small changes (they're listed on the right side when you click that link below).

CNA isn't bad, it's essentially a mashup of CM10/AOKP and some other stuff. I didn't have any problems with it when I tried it and I think MikeH ran it for a while, but I ended up back on AOSKP/Jellybro.

What radio (baseband) are you on? The old radios weren't very good when it came to hand offs and whatnot. I'm on FF02 / FG02 and haven't had any data drops. On older radios I had data drops pretty often.

Yep, when I used the old radios I'd get random drops, wifi/3g handoff failures, 3g/4g handoffs taking forever, etc. and I'd have to go into airplane mode or reboot to get signal back sometimes.

I don't think I've had it happen once with the new radios. :happy:

I have 4G at home and work and it's pretty strong in both places and in between. But I never use it. I have wifi at home and work, which uses less battery, and 3G is just more battery efficient and fine since I never stream or anything.

But if I had to tether with it all the time, I'd want 4G also.

organizing my pictars, I have way too many pics in the "Camera" folder. Takes forever to load via MTP if I want to grab one or two. Splitting them into folders by month.

It would take forever using an app on the phone and MTP doesn't let me reorganize when on a Mac so I'm adb'n it up, which is working better than MTP would have anyway.

stupid MTP keeps its own database or something... I made changes in ADB and they show up on the phone and in adb but MTP still shows everything how it was before I started making changes. I even had the MTP program closed the whole time I was changing things. And of course there is no "refresh" or anything.

the MTP protocol must keep its own database of some sort. I didn't open it until after the files had moved and when I opened the Camera folder, it sat there for a minute loading so I was like "sweet its going to read the new layout of that folder" WRONG it is showing me the old folder structure. POS.

Cron4Phone + script to move my pics = should be win if it works rofl

Took me a while to get all the kinks worked out but now I have a script that will create a folder inside /data/media/DCIM/Camera for the current and previous months (if the folders don't already exist) and then copy any pics/videos for those months into the directories.

So it will take:

.../Camera/IMG_20120910_sexywanpic.jpg
.../Camera/IMG_20120911_pr0n.mp4
.../Camera/IMG_20121008_creeps.jpg
.../Camera/IMG_20121009_gangnamstyle.mp4

and create "201209" and "201210" directories inside the Camera folder and put the correct pics/videos into those folders. Used Cron4Phone app to make it run every morning at 3am.

There's probably an app that does that but I was bored :roflmao:

New CM10 nightly has the option for to set the CPU speed to 1.2GHz. Really no need at all to use other kernels now, especially with the integrated color tuning. Really is quite pleasing to use with no occasional slowdowns.

It was actually coded by Samsung in their kernel, but wasn't used for whatever reason in the official release. So basically it was underclocked from the OEM. The voltage is the same so it shouldn't use anymore power. I've tried aokp but it seems to be missing nagging details.

If you want to play, it'll actually run at 1.7GHz with the Glitch or Devil kernel. Lulz

Been rocking the OEM screen protector on my Venture since I got it. The other day it finally came off, while I was out and about (so the replacement screen protectors I bought weren't available). Got home, and it immediately fell on my stone driveway and scratched the screen.

I don't use the prediction bar either, even with this gesture typing. You really only need to use the bar with weird words which you can type out normally if needed.

I'm using Nova Prime (grabbed it when it was .25). Tried ssLauncher the other day. Looks like it has lots of potential but would take a while to setup how you want. It's not like other launchers.

i got the 4.2 clock app this morning its pretty sweet already has countdown timer and stopwatch built in. took me awhile to get the alarms working right. i renamed cm app to .bak and renamed the new clock to deskclock.apk wiped data and forced closed and it worked.

I have BAMF Paradigm working on le Fassy. Used a guide from back when AOKP was just a port and not source built. Other than stuff like MMS, Galaxy S Settings, and the nav bar it works pretty nice. Someone who knows what they're doing needs to get it added to their source.

My brother has a Bionic with an ICS rom. He flashed it today and it came with the 4.2 camera but it doesn't work right. Apparently it moves realllllly slow after the first pic and the blue dots don't show up.

Anyones music player on your phone ever just stop working? Mine does and I have to reboot my phone to get it working again. Been doing it a while but it used to last a while but recently it plays for a few songs then stops. It doesn't crash or anything, just stops playing. Wont play again until I reboot.

try clearing the cache on that bish:


Power off the phone
Power on while holding the home button.
When the M pops up let go of power but keep holding home.
When the triangle with the ! In it let go of home and push both volume Buttons.
what pops up is called stock recovery.
Then using the up and down volume buttons to navigate down to wipecache partition. Use the power button to select and then select yes. Then select reboot your phone.

Since I'm not worried aboot settings/data, just the inconvenience of selecting and downloading apps, I just cp /data/app/* /sdcard/APKs/ once in a while and bam, there's a full backup of my apps, easily installed anytime, easily copied elsewhere...

CDMA carriers don't allow phones sold for other carriers to activate on their plans/networks. They tend to put in their own modifications to the OS too.

Bought an OTG cable for $4 at a local computer place. Plugged in a powered hub, mouse, and keyboard. Works perfectly. This combined with hdmi would be bamf. IDK how you'd connect an OTG cable AND the HDMI adapter though since there's only one USB port.
