missed aosp lollipop, tried to restore my backup, woldn't boot. Tried to flash a different ROM, wouldn't boot.

KDZ'd back to stock, now I have black lines on my screen at all times (booting, recovery, download mode, etc). XDA/Google say that the black lines are a hardware issue and I'm fucked since the phone is out of warranty. yay

So I've been trying out Spotify Premium lately. It works pretty damned well on my desktop and ps4 but on my phone it will randomly "skip" like an CD player with a scratched disc and sometimes skip to the next song for no reason. It happens on wifi and lte with headphones or with speaker.

I've found lots of others with the same problem and no fixes. :emo: Was really liking it too.

maybe they are trying to put some nostalgia into the portable music. like when the old cd walkmans would skip if you looked at them wrong. lol. i liked it too when i had it i just use pandora with pandora patcher for xposed now.

I used to use Pandora but I like that you can actually play the song you want with spotify and make playlists of songs and whatnot, rather than just getting something similar to a song you want.

Unless Pandora has added something like that recently.

i deleted all my mp3s on accident a couple times and I've been too lazy to copy them over so I've been trying different streaming services (especially since TMo doesn't count them against data caps).

Spotify is definitely my favorite, will subscribe if I can fix this skipping shit.

G4 looking good. Camera has bigger sensor, lower fstop, a color spectrum sensor that should make colors more legit, improved stabilization, can save in RAW, etc.

flashed a different ROM last night. I've been using the same one for months because it was so stable/simple. It was based on PA, which is pretty close to vanilla AOSP. It only has a few "features" added to it (long press to change tracks, kill all button in recents/notifications, RRO/Layer support, and a few small things.

Decided I want to play with some Theme Chooser themes again so I had to flash something else.

I just stopped setting up my g3 due to flashing so many romz. Roll stock aosp down to the wp, very little apps, just use it. It got so old tying to revert my apps data, themes, configuration.

Running a stock lg ROM called BarePop. So far its running well, forgot how ugly the ui is. Changed DPI to 560, now launcher, moonshine, installed all my apps.

I can't touch my LG realm without making the screen come on, no matter how carefully I try to grip it by the edges. If it's ringing, I can't touch it without answering/dismissing/silencing the call. It unlocks itself and starts the camera just hanging around in my pocket. Battery life would probably be 3-4x as long if it wasn't always doing that shit. I expect it to butt-dial one of these days. Can't disable enough shit to calm it the fuck down.

Wtf the only time my screen turns on when I don't want it to is if I grab it with one finger on the screen, one on the back. Which makes sense because I'm kinda tapping the screen. Its been really reliable. Maybe the Realm is over sensitive or something.

I think there are options for turning on/off double tap to wake, phone answering/silencing gestures, etc.

I'm also happy with mine and the specs are still great. I just always find myself going to AOSP and on every phone it tends to have SOMETHING that doesn't work 100%. Whether it's camera quality, radio reception, bluetooth/wifi issues, nfc issues, whatever. My current 5.0.2 build is working great but I just think it would make sense to skip the shenanigans next time and go with a Nexus. I told myself this same thing last time but didn't want to pass up dem specs. I don't regret it, this is a bamf phone, but I'll probably go Nexus next time.

Not yet, nothing official from Google about either new Nexus, not even verifying that they exist. At this point, just rumors and leaks.

Both supposedly have fingerprint scanners (the circle below the camera), laz0r focus (thing near the flash), USB type-C (new reversible bamf USB standard so we need all new chargers :blah:), and supposedly the LG is 5"-5.5" and the Huawei is 5.5-6" somewhere.

Mike, are you running a ROM on your N7? I picked up another one last weekend (since previous jerb took mine when I left) and have been running stock 5.1.1. It is smooth but will randomly freeze and reboot.

Yep, there will be an LG Nexus 5 and a Huawei Nexus 6, plus the current/old Moto Nexus 6 is still an option.

The LG will have lower specs than the Huawei, we just don't know how much lower yet. Might not have as high res a screen as the Huawei for example. Should still have plenty of RAM, fingerprint reader, and be a quick phone either way.

my GNex is still sitting in my drawer. 32gb, extended battery, I've tried putting ROMs on it to make it decent but it's still kinda sluggish :emo:

Used it as an IP camera for a while and while it's running it works great but it eventually freezes and requires a battery pull :blah:
