Was reading through a thread on RW where they're trying to unbrick a phone that took the update and then SBF'd. The few people who said they bricked their phones are getting Rezounds. Why the hell would they get an HTC over an unlockable vanilla ICS GNexSex?

Yeah it definitely looks like the next best choice but Vanilla phone > Sense phone. The fact that it's unlocked makes it much nicer though. Also, I don't like the looks of the Rezound/Incredible/etc with the weird backplates. Not that it really matters much.

i have my rev3 diz on right now. it feels a little slimmer in the hand compared to the andy ones. they both fit great. i would recommend the matte diz. i got the glossy one and it shows all finger prints.

yeah, compose a message to someone, then once you are in the message, type whatever you want to send w/ the rage face and then tap the paperclip to add a pic. Or if the stock D4 text app doesn't have a paperclip, try hitting Menu and see if attach is there.

I def had 3 of the issues on the update release they fixed, power on w/ no interaction, Shut down while music playing and camera settings not staying. Biggest on is resets w/ music which annoys me esp at school when I really need it.

Also, this entire saga over TeamHacksung (CM) copying the code from the guy who created the Voodoo Sound and Voodoo Color mods for the Galaxy S phones is getting old. Personally, I think it was a shady move since the original creator used that code for a paid app. I know legally it's open source and all that, but it just seems bush league to go so far as to copy his work, rename it and then make his app incompatible with CyanogenMod. Those guys have done a lot of work to get ICS working flawlessly on these phones but this entire deal makes me question who's really in charge.

I think it takes me around 2 hours to build. After the first sync, syncing again only takes a few minutes because it only has to download the changes that were made.

A ROM is an install of Android on your phone. You can get roms that are newer versions, that remove carrier/OEM shit, add features, etc.

The D4 (and every other recent Motorola phone) has a locked bootloader which makes it quite a bit harder for developers to work with. So a lot of roms could have broken parts (like the front camera that Mike mentioned).

Also, you don't just download it and run it. You'll need to root your phone first (usually fairly easy) and then flash/install a recovery for your phone, then you'd be able to flash a rom.

A GNex looks like just about the easiest thing to do it to. Just mask off the camera pod carefully, and around the screen. You can cut off the end of an old usb cable and wrap it with tape to increase the diameter to cover the USB port, and the same with a headphone jack. Also pull the battery door and tape off the entire opening. Depending on the size of the mic hole you can find a small diameter rod (lol) to shove in there or something of the like. A few coats, some heat, and presto.

yeah every time I've ever looked into Seidio batteries, I end up finding the same thing. They have much larger mAh sizes but little to no extra life compared to legit extended batteries.

Pretty sure even tho they are bigger, they are lower quality than the OEMs.

The last time I had something sent to home (apartment) I didn't like how the office handled shit. Mail peeps left a note in the mailbox and took the package to the office (which is coo). Then the office people just put every package in a closet next to the common room that is unlocked all day. The closet is also unlocked. I told them I had a package and they were like "yeah it's in there, just find it in the pile" and they didn't watch me or check what I grabbed, could have grabbed whatever I wanted.

But recently our complex was bought by new people who are doing a WAY better job. When I picked up my Diz case the other day, the packages were kept in a locked room next to the main office, I had to show the woman the "you haz package" card, then SHE found my package, then I signed for it and she initialed it. They also keep a log as the packages arrive so that someone can't take it before I go sign for it.

So I'll start sending things to the apartment more often, now that they are doing it right. I wasn't sure yet so I sent the phone to my wifes Nana's house since they're always home. Should have sent it to work, didn't think about it
