I bought the TB 2 weeks ago, was tired of battery dying before the day was up so I bought the Seido 1600mAh battery. It's better than the stock 1400mAh and gets me anywhere from 18-36 hours instead of the 10-12 I was getting with stock.

About to start the root process sometime this weekend/next week, any foreseen problems with battery usage after root Mike?
I thought about buying the seidio but you are the first person to say something good about it. I would rather just buy 3 batteries off ebay for 12 bucks :jester:

well after playing with this thing for a little bit, there are only a couple things that I think are pretty cool:

- The way you can move icons around. They don't need to follow the grid, you can tweak their location more. Could be useful.
- Different wallpapers for different screens. Don't know if I'd end up using it much but it's kinda cool :shrug:

I think thats about it :rofl2: the animations are clean but make everything slow. Not laggy slow but things are faster with no animations or quick simple ones like the transitions on LP/ADW. Needs moar options and customization. FTS delete.

So yesterday before leaving work I charged my battery to 100%, ran the Battery Calibration app, and I am waiting for it to die completely so I can charge it again. Since I took it off the charger yesterday at 4:15pm or so, I have:

- Played music on the way home ~20 mins
- Browsed twitter and tapatalk for ~20 mins
- Downloaded & played PewPew2 while deucing.
- Listened to music for ~6 hours (fell asleep w/ it on)
- More twitter, tapatalk, and a little gmfs in the browser for ~20 mins.
- Streamed Digitally Imported Radio all the way to work ~30 mins.
- Talked to wife for a while.
- Installed, played with, uninstalled Regina 3D Launcher and a few apps.
- Installed several app updates from Market.

Most of the above was with the screen at 100% brightness and I texted off and on in between all of it. So far it has been running for 18h 8m 26s according to Battery Manager. That sounds about right. It is blinking red and has given me the 15% warning already. As soon as it dies, I'll charge it back up to 100% and try it again.

I am pretty surprised, I guess that battery calibration actually does something. :smileshrug:

Just got the 5% warning, should die soon. RIP.

I'm not talking about the stock abomination. There are a few roms floating around that incorporate sense and they're amazing. It's just they lack the features and improvements that 2.3 brings.

To each his own. A DX is too large for me. Ideally I'd want a 4" screen, but the 3.7" is just fine for what I do with it. Yea the eris is outdated, but I LOVE how compact it is, and being able to run all the latest and greatest software. I can overclock it to 800mHz + if I want to and have it just as fast as a newer phone, but it does all I ever need it to do clocked much lower, with a battery that lasts for days if I don't stream YT or :secret: on it constantly. Judging by how active the eris forums are on XDA, I'm not alone. CM7 support only confirms that. I'm actually glad I got this phone instead of a bulky D1. Until there's LTE coverage near me(hopefully within a few years) I don't see any reason to spend a paycheck on a new phone that won't do a thing this one won't.

locked bootloader doesn't mean stock either, you can flash different roms and over/underclock, etc. You just can't replace the kernel or run CM/MIUI or have a true custom recovery.

as for that extended, hopefully it is a legit Motorola one :read: they are better than the Seidio methinks

The only issue besides not being able to have CM/MIUI/kernels that I've run into is you need to be comfortable with SBFing. Since there isn't a legit custom recovery, on some occasions you can get into a bootloop or something if you flash the wrong thing or a rom is buggy or whatever. When that happens, the only way to fix it is to SBF. Can't just restore a nandroid like you could before.
