I've been using 3g and wifi even though we haz 4g here. Partly for battery, partly because the 3g/4g handoff is slow as shit. Might flash new radios and leave 4g on today and see how it goes.

Oh and I don't know about you guys but I've tried AirDroid, Samba share programs, ftp programs, etc and I haven't really had much luck with them. They work but are usually a little screwy or slow or something. I tried this one yesterday and it worked bamf:

The pay version is only like $3 or its on blapk and lets you transfer multiple files at once, view a photo gallery, watch videos in the browser, and play your music straight from the browser. It actually works really well so far.

Looks like a nice phone but I don't like the brushed blue, it should be black or grey. Also don't like the home button. They should have gone with on-screen buttons IMO. There have been no problems with GNex navbars. The screen is sexy but it's still a 720p pentile sammy screen so it can't be that much better than what I haz now, besides the extra .2" and it being a SUPER amoled.

Meh. I'll hold judgement until it's on sale. Some things like the nav buttons are legacy because Samsung is trying to sell millions of the phones to all manner of people, and such a drastic change would turn people off at first. That's why the touchwiz UI doesn't change that much. It's a huge leap to get consumers to adjust to a phone with no buttons. I'm sure Samsung heard that through focus groups.

Otherwise I think it looks good aside from the camera and led implementation.

Most of the themes for the GNex are fugly. The Holo ones aren't bad and Lucid/Nitroz are decent. Gold plz go.

Trying to find people talking about the theme engine, so far just a couple mentions in the GNex CM9 thread but not much. One dude said he tried it but themes wouldn't apply.

Not sure if it isn't applying or if it just doesn't have xhdpi and the theme engine doesn't force hdpi images to resize or something.

The CM guys ported the theme Chooser from CM7 over to CM9. The old themes are supposed to be compatible, but I can't possibly see how that would work considering the XML and image changes from 2.3 to 4.0.

I'm trying out this other azn rom. Its faster than MIUI and has themes for Dialer/MMS/Lockscreens. Not bad except that there are still a few small pieces that aren't translated O_o

So Inc 2 I got had bad ESN. The guy already refunded me but it's "pending" until Wednesday since he apparently didn't have the funds in his PayPal account. Here is what he said, dunno what I should do.

So it's not looking good. (If you could hear me sighing over here...)

I've talked with Verizon three times tonight - trying to make sure I didn't just get someone who didn't know what they were doing, or didn't care. I even got through to a tech once, but no dice - wouldn't release it. They could even see where it had been activated on my account, but it didn't matter. I tried everything... I even asked if it was a small balance on the guy's account that I bought it from, and if so, if I could take care of it. Her response: "typically with people that let there accounts go like that, it's not a small balance - that's all I can really say about it without sharing too much info." *hint hint, it's not small* in other words...

It's not a guy I'm in touch with on a regular basis any more. He was a former co-worker and friend (not super close, but still), and a nice guy all around, seemed responsible - didn't think he'd let something go like this. I have his cell, but guess what's not working any more? So I likely won't be able to get in contact with him soon, and even if I could, don't know if I could fix this problem.

So I've got 3 things moving forward now...

1 - Mike I'm going to issue you a refund ASAP, but have a refund question for Ben first. Ben, if I do an official refund through Paypal, it could take 3-5 days before it gets back to Mike, b/c my Paypal balance isn't quite the $200 that he paid. If I send him a "gift" of $200, it'll get to him much faster and just charge my bank account (I think anyway?). Would that screw up your system, Ben, if I do a "gift"? Do I need to do it the official way? Mike, as soon as I hear back from Ben on this, I'll submit it either way.

2 - The phone... honestly Mike, if you want to keep the phone, you can. I really don't want to mess with it. As you can see in my history, I've bought/sold a LOT of phones over the past year or two, and honestly I'm tired of it (as is my wife!). I appreciate Ben's compliment, but I don't really want to be one of his best sellers any more. :) So Mike, regardless of the refund, in my mind the phone is yours now. You can keep trying with Verizon, you can use it as an iPod or something along those lines, or you could throw it on craigslist with the "bad esn" label - I see those often, and people will actually pay cash for them and flash them to another carrier. So you could get some cash for it actually. If you feel you must send it back, that's fine. But I'm 110% dead serious when I say I don't want to mess with it and you can keep it regardless.

Yeah, I think it has some limitations when it comes to modifying non-system apps but my apex isn't installed in system and it modified the slider color so there is at least some hope :rofl2:

Yeah, use SafeStrap, it doesnt touch your original /system partition so you can boot back to it if something goes wrong.

The only place I could actually use it would be my office lol. Even in that city it's still Edge though. No GSM coverage at all near my house. The nearest place with 3G is Myrtle Beach, but I'm never on the south end to use it. A smartphone is useless without it. :/
