Found a page that says how to change recents to search and longpress home to recents. Also how to change the softkey background. Both say to do it here:

decompile SystemUI.apk and navigate to res>layout>navigation_bar.xml

So I imagine I could add a fourth button in there somehow, I just don't know where/how lol

i hate apktool, i can never seem to get the POS to recompile no matter wtf I do, it happened last time I tried it on GB and now its happening when I'm trying to recompile SystemUI.apk for JB.

I made changes that should remove the battery/clock and add a big menu button, and added the menu_big png. Fgt POS won't recompile.

Already got pissed off at it so I guess I'll just wait for source/roms to get all the changes I want.

you should always be able to throw a rom on the sd card and flash it from recovery, regardless of whether the current rom is fucked or not

you did do a factory wipe and wipe the caches and shit before you flashed the new rom right?

Never had an N1 but you might need to increase the size of your system partition to fit newer Roms, especially MIUI ICS.

The patent apparently has to do with "searching multiple places from one interface" or something like that (idk the wording they used) so it can only search the internet, not your phone also. So I'm guessing to keep Google Now patent-friendly, you wont be able to select Apps, Music, etc at the bottom, it will only use the internet.

I think when VZW contract is up, I'm gonna try out StraightTalk. $45/mo for unlimited everything is win, even if there is slightly less coverage.

Well, I get home from work only to find that my brother and his girlfriend haven't had service all day. Not even enough to text.

We had some bad storms roll through a week ago that knocked data out for a day, but it was everywhere in town. Today, it was just my house.

So I call from my land line. First dude I got was super nice and helpful. So I didn't yell at him. However, I asked about why when I did have service up until this point it was super shitty anyway. He transferred me to another department.

So I'm feeling good and all about the great customer service. Well, second dude was a douche. I went ballistic. Not in a I'm gonna eat your face way, but a why are you insisting it's my hardware since I have a "flagship" device, and two other people are 10 feet away having THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

Idiots. I'm mad I pay so much money to have shitty service, yet I get perfect 4G in the middle of the woods on my 4 wheeler.

So, I pre-ordered the S3 weeks ago in order to ensure I keep my Unlimited Data by switching to 4g before June 28th. Today was supposed to be the ship date.

I get a text from Verizon this morning informing me that my order was cancelled. WTF!?!?!

I call them to calmly inquire as to why. They tell me the order was cancelled because the credit card I gave them was rejected. Not likely, but I roll with it and give them another credit card #. They tell me (after a few minutes) that they can't attempt to re-process the order because it was cancelled, but they can start a new order. I ask them if I would still get to keep my Unlimited Data, and am told no, the order would have needed to be placed before June 28th. I start to get angry and explain to them that that is exactly what I did. She asks if she can call me back. Before we disconnect, I ask her for the last 4 of the CC# that was rejected.

I call my bank (this was a Debit card) and verify not only that the account was no where near a state where the charge would have been rejected, but that there has been no rejection or any activity on my account in over 24 hours (yes, even my weekend purchases are already processed). I ask them is there any way to verify that. I spend the next 25 minutes talking to their fraud department attempting to verify Verizon's claim. Nothing. They are sending me a letter confirming this.

I then got my call back from Verizon. Nope, the option to add Unlimited Data has been removed from their ordering options. I ask to speak to a supervisor. I explain my situation, and that my bank has no record of their attempt to charge my card. She apologizes , but says there's nothing she can do, and asks if I want to continue to place my order.

Once again, Verizon is doing everything they can to eliminate "grandfathered" Unlimited Data plans, and this is a pretty shitty way to do it.

I'm off to my local Sprint store to sign a new contract.

Fuck you, Verizon.

Update Verizon called me back again. They are now telling me that the order was canceled because tablets are not eligible for the unlimited data plan. TABLETS!!! They are classifying the S3 as a tablet???

I switched back to my stock battery for a while since all the cases fit nicer with it. So far it hasn't died on me any earlier than I'm used to :roflpow:

Using the blue chinese case right now. I cut the headphone hole a little bigger and it looks good. Only downside now are that the buttons don't stick out much so it's a bitch to find them w/o looking at them. :blah:

According to THIS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980575), you have a corrupt picture/song/video on your sdcard (or insternal storage) that is making the mediaserver freak out.

Edit: Also, if you are playing music or streaming all day then I am pretty sure it uses the mediaserver so that could do it also.

honestly idk. You can try creating .nomedia files in various places to see if the problem goes away and to narrow it down.

Open a file manager that lets you create text files (root explorer, es file manager, etc) or a terminal window. Then go to /sdcard/DCIM (or wherever your bionic stores the pics you've taken) and create a file called ".nomedia" inside there, it doesn't need to have anything inside the text file, just a blank text file saved as .nomedia (if it adds an extension, remove it). This will make your phone ignore everything inside that folder. Now if MediaServer continues to suck your battery, you know it isn't one of your pictures. Move that .nomedia file to the folder with your music in it and try again, then the folder with your wallpapers or your Downloads folder if it has any music/pics in it, etc, etc.

Then once you know WHERE the bad file is, maybe you can try moving that whole folder to your computer and then copying it all back little by little until the problem starts again.

I didnt like the feel of the cruzerlite. I will probably order a diztronic since those are the best as far as TPU goes.

white cruzerlite starting to get :uhoh: on the flat parts even after scrubbing w/ dawn :fp:

The shiny parts still look good but flat parts have a couple little marks and discoloration. My chinese white case doesn't fit 100% either. So both whites be failing me.

The blue case, green cruzerlite, and black diz are my favs. All fit nice and feel good. Like how thin/light the diz is but I like the grip on the side of the cruzerlite and chinese case. :chin:

About to order Otterbox Defender for this one... I already have the Commuter, but it's been living in my glove box for weeks. Too bulky for the pocket. At least the Defender has a belt clip, which I'm not too cool to wear.
