BTW, 16GB is decent for a $250 budget tablet IMO. Plus the majority of the apps that you would use on a tablet now are cloud based anyway. Look at the Kindle Fire, it's only 8GB.

Got my Otter box Defender today. Not really as bulky as I expected. Also got some Smart Phone Experts screen protectors to get free shipping. Not sure I like them. They're a matte finish anti glare deal. Kind of kills the colors.

The only thing that sounded good about CWM6 was the incremental backups. I usually only keep one backup on my phone so incrementals would make that easier. Just update the existing backup instead of redoing it every time.

I sent my GNex out for repair as it had the standard but weird issue of charging only when turned off

3(UK) call me and say it is water damage, which i know it isn't but i go along with it and pay them £30 to "fix it"

I then get a letter stating they repaired it with a software update(there were no new updates they could do and updating software would not fix physical(water) damage...
but whatever i go into the store to pick up my phone... and they give it me without the usb plug, cable or battery...

so i have a GNex that i cannot use until they send me them by post :@

If it's like the DX then the bootstrap is an app that you install and when you run the app, it puts files where they need to be so that you have a custom recovery.

yeah every other app will bring over it's data and handcent will bring over its settings and whatnot if you do app+data but the texts themselves are stored somewhere else (which is why all your text apps can see them, not JUST handcent).

Well, since you are on GB still, you can't use Apex/Nova like we are... I'd go with ADW. It will let you adjust the grid to something other than 4x4, it will let you change the number of icons in your dock (or let you hide the dock), you can use it to change your icons, etc.

If you need icon files, we have a drop box full of them.

As for changing the statusbar and UI colors and whatnot, you'd need to find a theme that was made for that version of Eclipse. I'm sure there are a few floating around in the Bionic section of RW/DroidForums/etc.

lol, crafty. Easier than removing it. Are you deep sleeping? Read that peeps on EOS (for Toro anyway) aren't getting deep sleep unless they open maps, let the gps lock on, then close it. Have to do that every boot.

Google's location service and gps are both enabled. Have an exchange account and two gmails all with sync enabled. Google Now is on (currently showing weather in drop down). NFC and BT are off, but I doubt that matters.

Also like the blue, I've had the blue chinese case on mine for a long time. The button cutouts on the one you posted are definitely nice though.

White Neo is $25 and Blue TPU is $8. There are some whit bumpers on eBay but everyone on XDA say they only last like a week before falling apart.

Yeah I saw the ones you're talking about. White bumper with a thin black rubber lip that covers the buttons and holds it on. They look great and apparently are made of ok materials but the two pieces separate after a little abuse or removing it a few times. :down:

Le Fassy dev that does AOKP has some experimental builds but the "butter" stuff doesn't work and won't until the Nexus S source is released so we can get the hardware drivers. So right now it's basically pointless.

Im sitting here trying to get Jens Dx2 to charge. You have to have the plug JUST right or it won't make connection. I think it's the usb port on the phone as the charger works fine on mine.

My X is Laggy as a mother fucker. Started it yesterday from what I can tell. Something is using shit tons of data in the background. I've downloaded a data app and it saying its the DROID operating system. I've uninstalled shit loads of apps and no change. I turn off all data and phone runs like it should. My wireless router is blinking like its transmitting tons of data and it's definitely from my phone. Im 100% stock

GNex is completely unlockable, has lots of dev attention, and can probably be found semi-cheap if you check Amazon, Wirefly, Costco, etc.

GSIII has a locked bootloader w/ workarounds. It's a faster phone but probably won't get as many roms and dev attention. Not the vzw version anyway...

It has kernels and everything already. CVPCS or whatever his name is, is working on it. It has CM9 and CM10 already I believe. So bootloader situation isnt as fgt as le DX at least.

Good call on the watchdog Juan. For some reason my Yahoo mail app was sucking up like 60% of my cpu. Don't know why, its been installed since day 1. Uninstalled and phone is back to normal. My phone never showed yahoo using anything.

Ah yeah, that sounds like the best option. I also dislike how CM puts some settings into their own menu but others into the stock menus. I never remember where to look.

Yep, it's fgtry. My upgrade isn't for another year and a half or so, but when that comes around I think I'll look into a cheaper alternative.

Good news is, if you liked the GNex, you can probably find a used one somewhere.

If you want a D1-like flashing experience then the GNex is what you want. Even if you get a Sammy/HTC/LG/etc with a bootloader that can be unlocked, they can sometimes require a bunch of shit to get there.

GNex is super easy to root/unlock and has lots of roms/kernels/themes/etc to flash and play with. Me and MikeB have them and MikeH has bought one 2 or 3 times now :roflmao:

Lol don't blame Google, they are the only mobile OS to support Flash at all AFAIK. Look around though, might be able to get an old flash apk to install somehow.

flash will install on 4.1 and will work with the stock browser. it will not work with chrome tho. i know there are several flash apks floating around on rootz, etc.

Oh the stock JB animation? That one and the N7 animation both worked fine for me. So did the EOS one. But the trinity and the 8bit that comes w/ Jellybro both skip for me. They play a few seconds, then pause a few, then play a few, then pause a few, over and over. It isn't the phone lagging since those other animations work fine.

w/e will just flash stock JB bootani since it's clean and sexy anyway
