Battery has never been a huge issue for me because I charge it every night, I'm usually at my desk most of the day, and plug my phone in while driving. (well i do since I have DX car dock).

that's what I was telling my brother:

Motorola: built like a beast, excellent hardware all around, locked down
Samsung: amazing screens, decent internals, feel cheaper in your hand
HTC: overall decent phones that tend to have a shortcoming (usually battery)

My next one will probably be a Moto or Sammy. Not sure about LG yet.

Flashed OMFGB and I likes. Its like Diet CM7. Fast, efficient, has extra features but not everything that CM7 does. I like that it has MIUI's battery bar and the "Honeycomb Concept" lockscreen choice. Not as sexy as MIUI but I likes.

Only thing I don't like about OMFGB is the black messaging app. Tried to overwrite it with an AOSP mms.apk but it wasn't working, haven't played with it anymore since.

The "zone" doesnt get smaller, they just get smushed closer so you can accidentally open the wrong app if you dont hit the right spot. Yeah WL with mclock mod and invisible slider.

Could be in the running for wifes next phone if it is at least decent. Doesn't need to be BEAST.

So far the D3 is going to be her next phone because she insists on a keyboard and its the only decent phone on VZW that has one. If Samsung releases a decent slider that is 4G? Might win. Even if the processor is a little slower, the bamf screen and 4g will win. She'd be more than happy with a 1ghz phone. D1 is 550mhz and when I OC it, it gets hot quick lol

So I was setting up wifes D1 with OMFGB:

- Backed up apps and texts/call log
- Made nandroid backup
- Flashed OMFGB
- Flashed GAPPS
- Booted it up, all went well, ran great.
- Restored log/sms and apps.
- Changed some settings to make it more wife-friendly.
- Flashed kernel.
- Booted up fine.
- Setup SetCPU profiles, downloaded a couple apps from market, noticed that WellsFargo app didn't show up in market and wouldnt restore from apk. Installed JRummy market fixer. Ran it. Rebooted.

After that it would blackscreen after the "M" logo. :wtf: cleared caches, flashed a different kernel, nothing. Reflashed the rom and it came back to life. Not sure wtf I did that corrupted /system/ enough for it to not boot :roflmao:

found out the problem. the /system/ partition on the D1 was full. Which is interesting because I didn't install anything to system besides the rom itself and GAPPS. So when market fixer tried to fix the build prop, it renamed the original to .bak and then created a new one. That new one never got created since there was no room. So upon reboot there was no build.prop and it freaked out.

I ADB'd in, added a build.prop, removed some APKs from system that my wife doesn't need (live wallpapers, androidian/cyanbread themes, protips, geniewidget, etc) and rebooted it and it came back to life.

If you want to ask questions you can PM the person who posted the theme or there is a separate thread for questions, requests, help, etc. He also says to thank people using the button and avoid comments.

I'm using the Honeycomb concept now. Gonna play with WL a little though.

Out of all the lockscreens I've ever used, my favorite was the Sense 3.0 kang in MIUI. Was "fun" dragging the ring around. It's essentially the same as the OMFGB Honeycomb concept except it doesn't unlock until you let go of the ring/lock.

HTC Vigor — October 6th — It looks like the HTC Vigor will replace the HTC Thunderbolt.

Cm7 has developed an sd-card corrupting problem. Not just wiping them, but destroying the cards. No explanation. Same thing happened with the Samsung 2.3.3 leak. So in any event, I repartitioned the phone and went back to the comrom version of the gb leak. It has wiped cards in the past, but I never had issues. At least everything is working with it. Cm7 was great on le beast Eris but has been a nightmare with the Fascinate. Can't even make a phone call because in call volume is so low. That will never be fixed until Samsung releases the source code.

Doesn't do anything. It's audible in a silent room, but that's it. Been a problem since the early builds. JT has said more than once there won't be a fix until the kernel source is released.

TouchWiz leak eats SD cards and won't play video. Otherwise functional though

CM7 has non working sensors, no hardware acceleration, eats SD cards and has extremely low call volume

I am using 1.7.22.1 so guess i am sticking with it.

Took care of K-9 Mail over the last couple days and set everything up in Gmail. So far since 0520 or so this morning down to 69/70% battery as of 1708cdt. Only used the phone a couple times today, if that.

I havnt had one problem on MIUI 7.22.1 then i installed 8.5 and i had to reboot for the airplane problem and it never booted past the M. Tried wiping cache, nothing. also tried a data/cache wipe from stock recovery.

There are 4 main options for 2nd-Init roms right now. MIUI, CM7, OMFGB, and Liquid. I have tried the first 3. MIUI looks great but has a few bugs (especially in latest versions), CM7 doesn't have much dev attention and has a few bugs and requires fixes to work completely, OMFGB just works and is a good balance of stability and added features. I haven't tried Liquid yet but people say it is great, I may try it soon.

So, what applications are you guys using for caller ids? I like City Caller ID, because it shows the city/location of the person calling based on the number. Anything out there that works like this on MIUI?

The prediction seems to work REALLY well. On other keyboards it would correct to shit I didn't want, this one so far is doing great. I also love the quick access to the arrows and paste and whatnot. Went back to AOSP rom for datFascinate, fried (as in, rendered 100% unusable) TWO SD cards in three days. :rofl2: There's something up with all the AOSP builds since 2.3.5 was released. IDK. Got sick of that shit quick.

Went back to le trust ole' EC09 2.3.3 leak from Sammy, now using the beta ComRom version of it with a few CM .apks thrown in for good measure. Shit's beast. Double the battery life of any AOSP rom, no sd issues(yet), auto-brightness works(dunno why but that annoyed me not having it on CM), and the camera can record HD video. :secret:
