Okay, I just logged into VZW and setup that plan and it would be $135 per month for an X with insurance and data and a free dumbphone with no insurance, no internet. The plan would have 700 minutes shared and unlimited text for both phones. Unlimited nights (after 9) and weekends. And calling anywhere in the US is just like normal minutes, no long distance fees.

Of course, when you first go in, you'd have to pay for the X and activation fees and shit.

Si for a family plan, thats the lowest. They used to have a 300 or 400, don't know why they don't anymore :( to haz 2 droidz on the plan, it would go up to $165 cuz its $30 for each smartphone. Ours is 175 porque haz 2 smartphones plus one extra dumbphone that is only $10 a month.

Yeah ondemand works the best. I never use performance because it is just asking for bad battery life. I do use conservative and powersave when the kernels support it.

Did a quick search and thats about what they are going for on eBay. See if he rooted it because if the bootloader is unlocked the warranty is void. A lot of people have been saying HTC looks past it tho. I unlocked mine but theres a method now that doesnt require you to its just more of a bitch.

I've heard that they have really good customer service. I saw some really nice cases listed for the DX but they are "in development" so far. I may just get the cheapest one VZW has tomorrow and then get a beast seidio whenever they are available.

But yeah, X > Droid as long as you are willing to forfeit the keyboard and root/roms (for now at least). It is faster than my Droid at 1ghz with Froyo and the X doesn't even have Froyo yet. It has the FM radio, beautiful screen, etc.

The only things I miss from my Droid are the themes (mainly i just want a black bar lol) and being able to hold down the volume keys to change tracks with CyanogenMod. That's it...

I don't miss the keyboard AT ALL and I used it quite a bit. The on-screen is so big that I rarely make mistakes.

Motorola Devour. It is a low end phone. The keyboard isn't bad and the phone is made well (aluminum body) but it isn't very fast, has a low resolution screen, etc. That and the Eris are the low end Android phones on VZW. Then comes the Ally, then the Droid, Incredible, X, and soon the Samsung Fascinate and Droid 2.

for BW, tap the sun/moon/whatever on the widget. once the forecast pops up, press Menu and go to Skins. Go to the "Download Skins" tab and find some that you like. Tap them, download them. Then go back to the "Installed Skins" tab and tap one, tap Apply, then tap "Save & Apply". All done.

Hopefully this fixes the problem I have been having with battery life also.
It's simple really. Disable the JIT compiler. My nexus one battery life increased 10 fold. It makes it last the whole day now, running at 1036800 mhz. Some of you PROBABLY already know this, But I figured this is something that needs a conversation about. My battery life isn't amazing as it was on 2.1 but in the short 8 hours or so I've had this one...it's much better. It's not really something needed anyway I think. Maybe for some Flash content or 3d games. Just me though.

Rename the zip to update.zip then turn the phone off then turn on into recovery (hold trackball and power) go to apply update.zip, I think you can do that with stock recovery at least.

The sdk installs to your computer, not the phone. And most likely your computer doesn't show the .zip extension but it's there. That's why you had to name it just update.

If you want to follow those instructions exactly instead of flashing Amon RA like it says in step 16 download Clockwork Mod from here http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/ and the file you are going to want to download is this one recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-passion.zip. The N1 is also known as the Passion FYI

Came across the app Power Strip and if you don't have it already go to the Market and pay the $1 for it. Its a shortcut app that you can access from anywhere. You can see all apps, you can put widgets and create shortcuts. I think its pretty damn convenient and looks good. Here's a screenshot, the very bottom row are icons to your widgets that when pressed the widget will pop up.

I just unlocked mine, it was a lot easier but you lose your warranty. It shows an unlocked icon you cant get rid of. Majority o the people said they had no problems with getting HTC to honor the warranty being unlocked tho.

- install drivers
- extract sdk somewhere
- go into command prompt and change to sdk tools directory
- turn on usb debugging in settings > applications > development
- connect phone in "charge only" mode or "pc mode" depending on what Ally says
- type "adb devices" in command prompt. if it shows a device, you should be good to go
