if TMo had the current Nexus, I would have got it instead of the V10 but I honestly don't want any of the current phones more than my V10 (other than the Nexus or maybe the OnePlus 3, neither are offered by TMo).

I have JUMP, might as well use it whenever a phone comes out that I want. Wifey's Note5 is going strong but she's going to jump to the Note7 when it drops.

Thinking about jumping to the Note7 when it comes out. My V10 is still going strong but the reviews for the S7 Edge are bamf and the Note7 is the same with a slightly newer processor, a stylus, and iris detection (dat gimmick?). Plus, my wife's Note5 feels so solid and well built.

I'll miss the IR blaster and rear buttons, but at least they have an SD slot now. Will miss the removable battery a little but I was fine with that on my G2.

We'll see. I may wait to see if TMo sells this years Nexus but I don't have much hope for that.

The IR blaster and removable battery is what I miss most from my S5. On my Note 2, I never really used the s-pen.

If the next nexus phone comes out with the SD820, 4GB ram, 64GB or SD card in a smaller size phone (e.g. 5x size), I may ditch this 6P.

I've swapped batteries at work a couple times but its not a deal breaker. I use the IR blaster often but I'll just get off my ass and get the remote lol

V10 has 64gb, IR blaster, removable battery, SD slot, 4gb ram, HiFi DAC, etc. Only downside is the SD808. I love the phone but compared to my wife's note 5, I can feel that it isn't as snappy sometimes.

There's also way more ROM options on Galaxy devices and I loves me some tinkering.

Was wrong about dual selfie cams, has dual rear instead. Which is better. We'll see how it looks when LG officially reveals it but from the renders it looks like a big G5. The G5 looks :blah: to me and I think the reviews on it have been so-so.

if the Nexus doesn't come to TMo, I'll probably either go with the Note7, S7 Edge, or the V20 if it ends up better than it seems so far.

idk, v10 quality is rather win. have dropped multiple times on concrete and only have scratches. no cracked screen. and the back covers has held up well with some peeling ;shrug:

Agreed, didn't mean that V10 was garbages. The Note7s glass back is probably more fragile but also more premium (wife's Note5 feels nice). Note also has stylus and wireless charging.

V20 has removable battery, dual cameras (dat wide angle), HiFi DAC, 2nd screen, better "pro" options on the camera, etc. I didn't notice if it had an IR blaster.

Gonna be a tough decision between those two.

The Nexus/Pixel on the other hand will probably lose to both of them as far as features go but dfw Nexus again...

I hope LG increased the DPI this time around too. If I put my V10 next to my wife's Note5 (same screen size and resolution) and open Spotify or Twitter for example, I can see like 3 or so more songs/tweets in a list. Things on the V10 are huge in comparison.

It's more obvious with lists, but you can see how the Note5 shows more content, plus it doesn't have the navbar since it has physical buttons. Physical buttons are nice for screen space but I prefer on-screen so V20 wins there. Plus, Samsung has the back/recents buttons backwards imo.

Full system themeing, dual screen apps for ALL apps, 2nd screen improvements, etc. That display size slider looks like it fixes the issue I mentioned, as long as the smallest setting is small enough.

V10 only has one rear camera foo. V20 has two. They're different beasts though. iP7+ has one normal lens and one telephoto (zoomed in) lens. It uses the two zoom levels to do some weird shit.

The V10 front cameras and V20 rear cameras have one normal camera and one wide angle (zoomed out) lens. So it can take wide-angle almost fisheye pics.

The iP7+ dual camera stuff is kinda cool but I honestly thing the wide angle is more useful. It also mentions that the iP7+ is bumped to 3gb. Bishpls, V10/V20 have 4gb. :security:


If TMo gets the Pixel, I'll almost definitely pick it up. If not, I'll probably go V20. The V20 will have bamf cameras, removable battery, an sd slot, ir blaster, bigger screen, bamf DACs, etc. But the Pixel will be updated straight from Google, will have tons of ROM options, and will probably be cheaper.

BAMF features vs clean OS with fast updates and ROM options.

Were talking about RAM. 4gb is plenty. I think there is only one phone right now with more RAM (OnePlus 3 has 6gb?). The V10/V20 come with 64gb of internal memory. Our V10s also came with 200gb SD cards.

I think its bullshit they still use the advertised storage capacity for the os to sit on. My Moto X pure 16gb is worhtless without an sd card. I couldnt even update apps because it was out of space. The Marshmallow feature of formatting an sd as internal memory is a lifesaver.

Its also bullshit that hard drives and ssds are still rounded up. 64gb may mean about 62gb formatted, minus a few GB for the OS like you said. You end up losing like 10gb off the top. Bitches.

My phone says 12.5gb for system data right now. Idk what all that includes.

Pretty much just the ear buds as far as I'm concerned. The free tablet requires a data plan (lowest is $10/mo). The $200 credit doesn't apply when JUMPing, only when trading in a paid off phone for a V20.

But the ear buds are $150-200 on Amazon so fidil.

Why do you need a charger that is USB-C? Just use USB-A to USB-C cables. Isn't that what came with your 6P? My V20 came with an A->C cable so I can use it in any existing USB-A chargers.

I just need more cables. Only have one that I carry around.

My experience has been that the 6P only rapid charges when its C-C. 6P came with C-C rapid charger and a 8 inch A-C cable.

6P looks nice, but I'm actually surprised you went that route over an LG since you talked about IR blasters, removable batteries, sd cards, etc. while you were waffling. Plus the V10/20 have bamf DACs which I know interest you also.

It was the developer scene more than anything. Plus, the ability to try stock android. If I recall correctly, the Dev scene on the vzw v10 was a bit lacking when I was searching for a new device.

All those things I miss, but after having stock android....hhhhmmmm.

With the new Samsungs and LGs especially, you pretty much have to buy a phone that you like in it's released state. If you get ROMs or major updates later, awesome, but don't expect them. Too locked down.

With that said, I'm really happy with the stock V20 (and was with the stock V10 also)

You can change app drawer icons using an icon pack but you can't edit them individually like you can when they're on your home screen.

As for size, you can adjust the icon size, label on/off, label size, label color, label shadow.

Love it. Loved my V10 and this is the same thing but with improvements all around (DAC improved, 2nd screen improved, manual camera settings improved, faster processor, fm radio, etc.)

Only negative I can think of (which doesn't apply yet) is that eventually it won't get updated like a Nexus/Pixel would and won't have much or any dev support. With that said, this phone in stock form is great, I don't have a reason to root so far.

IR blaster = use your phone as a remote control. I forget if the Note2 had one but your wife's Note3 does. I use mine for TV, soundbar, tower fan, TV at soosh place, and projectors at work. Is handy.

If you want something newer that has an S-Pen and all those other features, the Note 4 is the best you'll get. The Note 5 has a sealed battery, no SD slot, no IR blaster.

If you give up the pen, you have more options:

- LG V10 - 64gb internal memory, bamf build quality, nice camera, maybe still too mash $ but I've seen some on CL for $250ish
- LG G4 - similar to the V10 with less internal memory and slightly smaller screen, a little cheaper
- Moto X Pure - no removable batt but has sd and big screen

Being on VZW limits you a little too, you can't buy random Huawei, Honor, OnePlus brand phones because VZW won't let you activate them on their network.

Has anyone ever tried to link multiple bluetooth speakers to one device at same time? This would be similar to a Sonos type multi-cast setup, so wondering if its possible.

I think it's a phone hardware issue. Mine will let me connect to two devices but one is for media audio, one for call audio. It won't output the same audio to two devices.

I have seen speakers that support this though. I think UE makes some. You can link multiple speakers so your phone only connects to one and the speakers do the rest.

I've tried it a couple times. It is pretty unique. You can make home screens of any size and you can scroll them in any direction. Lots of control but can be a little confusing. I think I was too lazy for Lightning lol.

No matter what launchers I try, I always end up back on Nova. Action Launcher, Google Now launcher, Lightning, Evie, Arrow, Smart Launcher, idk what others I've tried just for fun.

lol yeah, people figured out that people who fit a certain profile would get more surveys (such as women in a certain age) so people would pretend to be different ages, genders, etc. to get more surveys. I think they eventually screw up and answer something wrong.

Wife and I have each drop-cracked our LG LS620 Realms once. I bought parts donors on eBay, one of which was in overall good condition with a good ESN, and she decided she'd rather just activate that one and keep the old cracked one too. So, eventually I bought another eBay parts donor, but it didn't work. I bought a few more before I tried putting it back together with the old cracked screen and realized I must have damaged her motherboard.

So now I have, I dunno, at least 3 uncracked, probably good screens, and like 5 spare batteries. It's pretty sweet being able to haul around enough batteries to keep everything enabled and the screen on for 48 hours straight (not sure if exaggerating), and not worrying about cracking or scratching the screen. I don't even use screen protectors anymore.

LS620 is dual core 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, 32GB MicroSD card installed (rumor has it that 128GB will work, gotta get me one of those). It was running shitty for a long time, then recently I had to factory reset while troubleshooting an activation issue and I didn't bloat it up again. Now it runs pretty decently.
