Only reason I would get a Nook is to avoid having my laptop at school, but it would need at least a 32gb SD card for music purposes.

If I got one, I'd remove almost all games from my phone. I'd keep using it for music since it is pocketable. The nookz would be used for note taking in meetings, classes, training, etc. Browsing the internet/Tapatalk at home. Watching movies/browsing/etc when travelling (not often), etc. Plus I'd love to have one to play with Honeycomb and whatnot. Gaming on one would be nice too. Most of the games I tend to like on Android are 2D and don't need huge processors and GPUs, the problem on a phone is how fast the battery dies. I've heard that the Nookz battery is bamf.

I thought about getting a mini-laptop, like a dell mini9-10, but since my notes taking is primarily math related, formulas/calculations/etc, it would be hard to write those in a word-processing application such as word.

I used to use my laptop when all my notes were primarily words, but not so anymore.

It's been the best out of everything I've tried. GummyJar was fairly stable. After that I tried Liberty which had a couple issues for me (mostly random reboots :pissedfist:) and then I tried RubiX Blurry. That was a fuckfest. Kept freezing and then made my phone bootloop and I had to end up SBFing it. :blah: After that I put ApeX on it and so far so good.

Debating on the merits of flashing a new radio. I'm at 2.42.00.04.12 currently. When I activated the phone I didn't get the OTA update that VZW put out last year. (2.42.01.04.27) I'm scared to death I'll screw something up and brick the phone though. Some guys have had it go wrong with the eris and it won't even power up. For others it did just fine though.

Most everyone that updates it flashes a Hero version (2.42.02.10.29) which works just fine on the eris. I'm just so worried about breaking the damn thing. :eek2:

Unless you are using an unstable rom then updated daily/weekly is rarely REQUIRED. I go long periods of time between updates sometimes :shrug:

I like them. With an extended battery they get decent battery life. Plus it's running GB along with my eris.

The only issue with RealHDMI is that the X is only capable of updating one display. So once it switches to your TV, the phones screen freezes. But you still have to touch your phone to do things so you are touching a frozen screen and seeing what you are doing on the TV. Seems odd :rofl2:
