Question for MikeH. I seen you are using glados kernel what does the colro feature do? I am using leankernel 10 and getting great battery life. Just wondering if its worth switching.

adw is definitely win, LP would give me similar issues where it would take a while to load when going back home or booting up. fgtry. Plus he never updates LP, even the paid version. ADW is nice and ADW EX is all win.

So, since I had the tech at Vz reset my phone over a week ago,(so it was logged in my acct for when I call to bitch out VZ tech support) knock on wood no issues with it yet. I did not reinstall LP or ADWex and left TWC off it as well, seems to be running ok to this point.

If I recall correctly all you really need is z4root and a file explorer program (astro or similar). z4root is a simple install, and click to root. The astro will gain superuser permissions and be able to change name files from .apk to .pak.

I will say this to my opinion on any VZW android release. Over the semester break, I rooted and rommed my stepdads Incredible 2 due to him complaining about typical HTC piss-poor battery life. Ever since Cyanogen Mod has been installed, he says it has been a night and day difference. :shrug:

a bootloop is when it keeps playing the boot animation infinitely. You're saying it starts up then freezes and reboots?

If you haven't messed with the system files then the first step would be to wipe data (this will erase all your apps and settings). You can do that from the custom recovery or the stock recovery. If it still does it then you can try a different rom but you may have a hardware issue.

It was still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. If they say anything I'm just going to play dumb. I had to last night on the phone with tech for like 45 mins.

Insurnace I don't think care at all, as long as you pay them. Manufacturer might notice, get pissed, and could charge you retail for the phone but I'm not positive. I would attempt to make it stock, worst case you'll brick it which is fine too :rofl2:

MiLocker wasn't laggy for me, I liked it. It is my the MIUI peeps so you can download themes straight from the app.

WL is nice too. Themes need to be downloaded and put on your SD Card but you can customize the layout however you want.

They're both nice imo

Razr should be okay, this usually happens when they update the bootloader because current SBF files have the old bootloader and get confused.

If someone leaks a new SBF then this won't be an issue.

MBP, just don't take an OTA update if you go back to stock at any point.

No no, you do SBFs when shipping hits the fan. OTAs are the updates you download on the phone from Moto. You can still SBF but once you boot into stock, do not accept the system update. Just root/bootstrap and gtfo to a rom.

No, it's in source. They may not be done implementing it. It changes the color if you swap to a numeric signal status but the icons won't change color yet.

They have, in some part with the unlocked Razr. Most of those decisions fall into the hands of the carriers, as Cam said.

Who knows really. To a certain extent it comes down to them understanding that the developer community is going to hack their way to root/rom/overclock in someway. Motorola does it probably in someway from a business standpoint. Motorola knows (like most computer companies) that if you overclock, the chance of increasing heat and potential for severe damage occurs. From a business perspective possibly to protect themselves. :shrug: Again, back to the developer community, they are going to try their hardest to find someway to root/rom/overclock.

For me, I root to remove the useless VZW bloat that I dont use. I am a stickler on battery life, and those useless programs eat my battery life. After I root, I install a rom that has better code and battery life. I tried overclocking/underclocking on my OG D1 with horrible luck. Thus, I left that shit alone on the DX.

I used an all in one toolkit from xda to root my wife's razr all I had to do was install the drivers plug it in and hit number 2 and it rooted lol. Then hit another button to install safe strap.
