Le gf's battery on DX2 doesn't last for shit. Fully charge at 10am, and down to 40% already right now.
What can do to bring battery back to life? Replace? Anyone have one they want to donate?
I have extra battery for my Bionic, but it won't interchange..

stonehenge
03-27-2012, 06:18 PM
First, just make sure she doesn't have an app running that is killing it. Or if she uses bluetooth and gps all day or something, that will kill it.

My DX battery is still going strong and I bought it at launch, you shouldn't really have any probs with a DX2 battery unless it's a dud or something.

y????the batt dr works fine
Android does a damn good job of killing apps on its own. Unless you set up app killers just right, they usually end up not doing much or sometimes making battery life worse since they kill apps that automatically restart themselves. So instead of an app just running lightly in the background, it is constantly closing/starting and using more battery.

shootermcgavin003
03-28-2012, 01:48 AM
batt dr only kills it if you kill the app yourself its not anything automated. and andriod always have bullshit running in the background.

stonehenge
03-28-2012, 01:58 AM
oh ok then

:notbad:

android lets things run but only if they need to run or aren't wasting memory or whatever. as soon as memory is needed to maintain sexiness, it kills them or puts them to sleep

Do it. The Fascinate will be your easy way to find out what you want to do with your upgrade. If you play with it and like it, use your upgrade to get a GNex. If you like it but want a keyboard, get a D3 or a Stratosphere. If you hate it and want your fgt BB back, then get a new BB. :jester:

I texted you about cat.jpg.

As for what version of android is under MIUI, it will never be on top of blur (.605). The only piece of .605 on your phone after you flash MIUI is the kernel. Old MIUI was based on CM7. I'm not sure if new MIUI (v4) is on CM9 or vanilla AOSP.

Did you backup all the apps using TiBa before wiping? Or are you thinking that TiBa will restore from a nandroid?

race2c
04-01-2012, 03:48 PM
I have both backups saved. One via nandroid and one via TiBackup.

stonehenge
04-01-2012, 05:35 PM
well if you have unpaid TiBa then you should be able to go down the list of apps inside the app (ones that aren't currently installed but ARE in your backup are at the bottom of the list) then you have to tap them one at a time and choose Restore and then App + Data. Takes a while. The paid version lets you do it in a batch operation.

race2c
04-01-2012, 06:10 PM
I did it via TiBackup (the paid version - found le key on :sneaky:). Still no worky.

stonehenge
04-01-2012, 06:45 PM
does it give you an error or something? Try using the newest free version. It could be that your version is old. Also, I've never had good luck with keys on TiBa, they almost always fail in some way :jester:

So try the free one and do the apps one-by-one and see if that works.

race2c
04-01-2012, 08:04 PM
I downloaded a new version of TiBackup (and patcher on :sneaky:), reflashed MIUI v4, and then redid a batch restore via TiBackup. We will see what happens.

As of now, its rebooting after the restoration process....potentially bootlooping at the MIUI start-up screen.

stonehenge
04-01-2012, 08:08 PM
you are only restoring user apps right? If you are restoring system data then that explains your bootloops...

race2c
04-01-2012, 08:11 PM
yeah, its supposed to be only doing user apps. i will make sure just in case.

how do i go about saving MMS/SMS/Phone Call history/theme layout, etc in TiBackup?

EDIT: people need to stop calling me while i try to get my phone up to par. damn it.

stonehenge

race2c

So apparently there's a mod going to be posted soon that boosts RAM on le Fascinate by 100MB.

:horyshet: :horyshet:

Although it sacrifices video recording and playback. There's going to be a mod merged into the AOSP Aries kernel for a +50MB RAM mod, that only cuts out 720p recording.

I usually average about 3 hours of screen on time from when I leave my house at 6am until I go to bed at ~930pm. I don't charge it during the day and it's always around 15-25%.

Just ordered my insurance replacement GNex. I need a case, and probably a screen protector even though they suck ass. I've noticed my screen is pretty scratched up from my pocket, even though I only keep my phone in one pocket by itself.

Lead me to what I should get. I'd like something like an Otterbox but it makes the phone so damn big. Plus I kill belt holsters. I always hang them on chair arms cause I'm a fat ass.

stonehenge
04-05-2012, 03:11 PM
fat + belt clip = bad combo :imo

If you don't need anything too thick, TPU cases are great. Thicker than silicone, don't scratch phone like hard cases, not bulky, not sticky, etc. Plus they are cheap, you can get them for under $10 in most cases.

Or if you want a beast case, you'll have to accept the bulkiness of them and get an Otterbox or Ballistic or something.

I've had otterboxes, hard cases, silicone, sleeves, holsters, and TPU on previous phones and now the only cases I buy are TPU  they aren't as protective as an otterbox but my DX looks new after two years in one with several drops.

Like an android tablet combined w/ a wacom and a phone?

Most tablets don't make calls, even if you have a VZW plan for them. You can use phone apps that call thru data like Skype and shit but it's not the same as a true phone.

Also don't think there are any pressure sensitive screens. BUT I did just find this:

6YRtp2AYBG4

It is a pressure sensitive PEN. Apparently Android works with those pens in Honeycomb and ICS. Pretty cool. They're using the SketchBook app.

So if you get a newer tablet and one of those pens and that app, you should have everything you want except for the phone.

EDIT: Been trying to figure this out and it looks like the pressure sensitive pens only work on certain tablets that have some wacom shit built into the screen. :hmm:

:cheeky:

I have a Diztronic and a CruzerLite A2.

The Diz is a little thinner and has a nice matte finish except for the front lip that is glossy. Feels pretty bamf, I use it most of the time. Unless you want sparkly, I think your color choices are black (matte or glossy) and smoke.

http://androinica.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/diztronic01.jpg
http://www.androidbeats.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Diztronic-Matte-Back-Black-Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-case-front-view.jpg

The CruzerLite is transparent glossy TPU with flat TPU grips on the side and a flat Android robot on the back. They come in lots of colors.

http://www.smartkeitai.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/cruzer-lite-androidified-a2-cases.jpg

Both are bamf. If I could only keep one, I'd probably go with the Diz just because it looks more "classy" :jester: and the matte finish just feels good. But I like the grip on the side of the A2 and the fact that it feels a little bit thicker (safer).

MikeH picked up a cheap ass white case on ebay too. I think his jeans rubbed off on the white but as far as fit and quality go, I think it was fine. He'll have to answer that though.

Been thinking about flashing b30 but some peeps had problems with animations and the new navbar settings and whatnot. Will probably flash tomorrow or something.

I downloaded it last night and flashed. Runs fine except I had to manually slow down the animations in dev settings since they sped them up by default in the ROM. That didn't make a whole lot of sense, but whatever. Apparently people have been saying it's slow?

I think what people are saying is that some of them think the new speed is too fast, so when they go into dev settings and turn it down a little, it fixes the fast one but makes other ones slow as shit because they didn't speed up ALL of the animations, only some.

I wasnt a fan of how the new navbar is setup so I went back to Liquid. Was too lazy to setup MIUI again.

Lulz that's why I made a Android before MIUI. Knew I'd be too lazy to set up Liquid again.

People reporting too many bugs, will wait another build. Maybe Liquid will update soon.

Even after all your SBFing? Plus you aren't trading phones, the DX will be there if you miss it
