Then put it back to stock and take it back to them, tell them it doesn't work for shit and you want a replacement. If that one doesn't work then try to get them to swap it for a different phone that you like.

Do you know anyone else around there w/ Sprint?

It doesn't use them directly but most phones have hacks so you can use VZW towers but if you use them too much you will get cancelled.

shootermcgavin003
08-06-2012, 05:09 PM
in my area they share towers along with the local carrier. in fact most of your towers are shared towers. i know this cause our police radios share towers with a att towers in a few places.

---------- Post added at 04:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:06 PM ----------

very few cell phone towers are owned by said cell phone company but the phone company usually pays to share it with another company police agency etc. however cdma and gsm cannot share. remember the days of roaming charges well back then you had cell phone towers that where cell phone only and outside your area you had roaming charges for using there tower. now you dont have that. in fact if you phone is on another companies tower they have to allow you access they can charge but have to allow access. this is due to 911. again no swapping technologies. but with nationwade agreements the companies dont foward the charges to you. so if sprint owns said tower vzw can use it and does and so forth and they have agreements to use each others shit only way they can offer nationwide without it being a fourtune.

MikeH
08-06-2012, 05:10 PM
thats probably cuz you live in the sticks like yaybo

stonehenge
08-06-2012, 05:15 PM
my dad had sprint before vzw and driving across the country he said he ran into dead zones for Sprint ALL the time and VZW rarely. They definitely don't share all their towers and Sprint coverage doesn't tell you how good VZW will be.

Unless your in NHBville

shootermcgavin003
08-06-2012, 05:18 PM
i edited it. it explains why they have to. thats a nationwide thing. any cell phone can dail 911 even if its not active on a service.

MikeH
08-06-2012, 05:20 PM
A paranoid fuck came into the store the other day because he wanted to charge his phone real quick because he was afraid people were always after him and couldnt risk it dying

He only carried it for 911 purposes and never had it activated.

that said if your having dead spots with sprint or what ever you should with the other. but service may have improved after he switched. there is a fcc deal also where they have to share but i cant remember the details. its similar to where you can have only one land phone company or power company in a certain area.

---------- Post added at 04:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:29 PM ----------

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprint_Nextel go to data roaming agreements

---------- Post added at 04:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:36 PM ----------

if they didnt have that agreement the phone company would pay when your phone hits there tower and vice versa. if there not nationwide carriers (idk any that arent anymore) they would stick roaming charges on your bill. like i said also the tower could be owned by neither could be the police tv stations etc... anything that uses wireless and the proper technology and the phone company pays fee to be on it.

---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 PM ----------

and my last thing to add when they say extened coverage network.........your using the other companies towers. i think vzw will show att dont. vzw does not have any towers in eastern ky nor does it offer service but due to the local company using the same technology it works here same as it would in lexington where its offered.

whats best STABLE rom so far?

stonehenge
08-06-2012, 06:24 PM
Honeslty, every rom I've tried has been stable. The only things that aren't working in some of them are new things. Like navbar customization is a little screwy in some. But as far as normal usage they are all stable.

Jellybro, BAMF, AOKP, Liquid, and Paranoid Android all seem pretty solid.

About to flash the newest Jellybro, I don't like BAMF's toggles :blah:

MikeH
08-06-2012, 06:24 PM
If you dont want to fuck with flashing a build every day or every other day then I would say BAMF Paradigm. If you want less features then I would say Jelly Belly looks nice for being pretty much stock.

stonehenge

Mike, I ordered some Tyvek envelopes from USPS last week. Ordered the minimum of 10 of each envelope (2 different kinds). Instead they sent me 100 of each :roflmao:

Anyway, I had two package slips in my mailbox (take them to the office to pick up package). The lady gave me the two USPS boxes but I bet those were for ONE slip and the case/games were the other slip.

Basically its in the apartment office, will get it tomorrow. Bishes don't open early enough for me to get it before work either :emo:

Yeah if you don't have an actual stereo behind it somewhere then you'd need an amp or EQ or whatever like in the video. Then you'd have to do the bondo/fiberglass since no vehiculars would "just work" :jester:

I bet one could fit in a CV. The whole is big enough for a DD, the only reason they are a PITA to put in these cars are the air ducts in the back, which wouldn't matter for a tablet.

Would be more bamf if you could just slide it in from the side/top and it connected, then you could take it inside with you.

MikeH

MikeH
08-12-2012, 03:42 AM
Yeah pulldown images were in yesterdays build and I believe the commit was merged so it should be in officials too.

New flow be up. The blues might be a little off but its hard as fuck to get them to match because everything looks different between comp and phone.

stonehenge
08-12-2012, 03:51 AM
can you take a screenshot of the correct blue and then compare that on the computer? Use the turkey baster thing in photoshop lol

MikeH
08-12-2012, 03:56 AM
Yeah but it's hard as most of the main blue images have noise to them. Pretty much every blue throughout the UI is a different shade and was like that before I start messing with it. The battery matches the on/off switches pretty well and I think it looks off with the header because it fades from light to darker.

---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 PM ----------

The blue in the toggles is probably off by the most. I dont feel like redoing 30 toggles right now though. I will probably just leave em so they are so small.

stonehenge

I don't remember but every one I've tried just lets you extract or compress, not actually replace/delete files within the zip/apk. I've tried so many that idk which one you recommended.

Tried 7zX, Keka, Ez7z, and others that I forgot the names of.

the 7zip site links to some of those above as well as "7zip for Mac" which goes here: http://homepage.mac.com/krmathis/ so that won't work..

i just want 7zip... damn mac
