Set it to stock speed and get rid of SetCPU for now. Run it like that and see what kinda life you get during normal use. Undervolting, underclocking, etc can cause FCs and shit a lot of times. I am happy with my battery life with the processor stock. Also, after installing a rom, run Battery Calibration (free in the market). You charge the phone to 100%, click the button in the app, then unplug it and use the phone til it dies. It made my battery last a lot longer.

I don't need any cpu monitors wtf you even talking about? :jester: Cam is just battery hoar and is setting up stuff he doesn't NEED but could possibly increase battery life. :shrug:

I haven't worried about battery life yet, as I have been trying to get the device to where I want it. Yesterday was spent activating, roms, roots, etc. Today I haven't even done my emails yet, but doing battery calibration right now, had to charge to 100%, but just started it about 5 mins.

Gotta figure it out, so it doesnt like said.

Not everyone likes to have NOTHING on their homescreen. :shrug: I use it as a phone mainly, so having an icon on the main screen for the camera, email, etc is useful.

I think I'll try Extended Controls or something for the toggles and go back to using BW/FancyWidget/etc to consolidate time/date/weather into one widget. :hmm:

Did you do the OTA update to FroYo? As far as I know, that's one of the changes. Try holding the back soft key, and pushing the power button. That's been the method on every FroYo ROM I've tried so far.

A lot of them let you pick your resolution, so just pick the smallest one that is still bigger than your wallpaper resolution. The resolution on the X is 960x854.

le DX is dead managed to last until about 15-20 mins ago. went from 12am or so-6:19am on airplane mode, 6:20am-9:30/45pm or so with my regular activities, a couple calls, some emails (accounts have 15 and 30 min frequency), some texts, some words with friends (gay-ass adds) and x construct, etc. i set those up with setting profiles application.

happy with the battery life so far, and thats with the factory battery but running liberty, no setcpu, no juice defender,etc. gonna run battery calibration again tomorrow.

I put it on me wifes D1 and it seemed snappier than previous roms. I like the theme engine and some of the features also. I haven't used CM since I got rid of my D1. Don't even think it was CM6 at that point. :(

DFW new phone w/ CMability. I hope Moto unlocks some shit. I love their build quality. If this damn X was unlocked I'd be le super happy.


Mike, I haven't paid much attention to Matted Blues. The one I posted looks decent. I like the colors and how the apps are themed, I just don't like the boxes around the icons up top. :(

Yea, they did a great job with it. It's just as snappy/quick on le eris as it's shown in that G2 video. That was impossible with Froyo roms on it without overclocking the damn thing to the moon. Along with the new script to relocate the cache and greatly expand the memory, it's a little beast now. :rofl2:

I mean, it just doesn't cross my mind to ever look at it. I see the notifications for email/text/etc and just open the apps for them. I COULD pull down the menu, but I never do.

Remember I've been running CM7 since before the first RC was out, so I'm just used to it compared to other ROMs. I only ran a Froyo build for like 2 weeks when I first got the phone.

Well, 7.1 RC0 is out for Cyanogen FYI. Debating on whether to wipe/flash it. The last release had some lag issues, which is why I went back to 7.0.0

I don't recall that being an option on the froyo rom I had. :think: Maybe it was. IDK. Just only noticed in with CM7. To me, the GB roms are quite a bit different feature and functionality wise than the stock 2.1 or Froyo I had for awhile. That's just in my circumstance though.

Yea I know it shows notifications and I can toggle the same things I use the widget for, but I just don't. Can't explain why other than the fact widgets look cooler and I get to scroll over a screen and see the fancy animations. :roflmao:

well if you get an email, missed call, text etc you just pull it down and tap to go straight to the message in question instead of having to find your app icon, open it, then find the new message and open that.

Someone on XDA created a script to shuffle some things around in the internal memory, so it effectively has double the space it had stock. Just relocated the dalvik cache to some other place IIRC

So, let me ask my real friend's opinions.

USB port is broken on Fascinate. Truthfully, I broke it, by trying to get it to work. It wouldn't connect to the computer unless I pulled on the cable a certain way. So I figure, loose connection. Well in the process of trying to bend the little connectors inside the phone ever so slightly, I bent 2. Then they broke off. Now my phone shows USB connected, even when plugged into a wall, which is fucking up my charges, and fucking up my battery life.

SO... I'm left totally without USB connectivity. Which means no quick file transfer, and most importantly, no Odin. :suicide:

Apparently this is covered under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I was advised to flash back to stock ROM (rooted of course), delete superuser icon, and roll into VZW and be like, "Gimme refurb.... now bish."

Thoughts? And my bill is like a week past due... so bastards will probably hold that over my head too.

Go for it imo. If you've had it less than a year and it doesn't look abused, you should be able to get away with it. Just make sure the refurb is good, on some occasions you can get one with scratches and shit :down:

If they say it isn't covered then your only options are insurance (if you have it, it's $90 for a replacement phone) or sell it for nothing on eBay/CL and eat the cost of buying a new (used) one. :shrug:

Bastard locked up yesterday, had to do factory reset, then it went apeshit... would send texts, bbut recieve NOTHING.. no calls, no texts, the fucker thought I was in Zimbagwe or something everytime I tried to check the weather/map or anything.
Reloaded basic apps (GoSMS, FB, ringtone maker) and thats it... restored all my texts, then 5 minutes later it erases them, and resends some I sent a fucking month ago. Then it will recieve the texts, and notify me of them, but I can't check them....
Reboot again..and again...and again...

so far, I'm not impressed with this chunk of shit.
