Might be easier to use something like Dropbox than trying to setup an FTP server and then trying to convince your router to forward FTP. Setting the "Hidden" attribute isn't particularly effective, but it's good enough for casual use if nobody who uses your computer knows anything.

Are you connected straight to the modem or are you going into a router with wireless and whatnot?
Edit: rick beat me to it, routers can get crafty |

Even desktops go through a router a lot of times. My desktop goes into my router and then to the modem and into the wall. It's not wireless but it still has to go through the router so that I can also have wireless for the PS3, laptop, etc.

ah, true...my modem was wireless, but the desktop was hardwired. If I wanna activate the wall jacks in my house, what would I need? I has ethernet wired all over the house, but my vrz fios box is wireless, the dude didnt mess with my house wires. I wanna hardwire ps3 and the tv.

LN52A750 can either be wireless (Have to buy wifi dongle) or can be hardwired. I can get RSS feeds (C/L, Weather, CNN, Mobi?)

wtf interesting
I've never dealt with wall jacks. Is there a room somewhere that they all lead to or something? |

Do that. If your IP address starts with 192.168., 10., or 172.16., you will have difficulty setting up an FTP server. If it does not, it should be easy to setup (but you might want to consider a router/firewall for protection anyway).
