If the N7 wasn't that much bang for the buck, I'd probably look at Amazon tablets next. I've heard meh about their skin/launcher but that's easy to fix.

Yeah, I don't like the launcher. Gonna make a go of not rooting, since for the first time ever, I have an Android that can actually be used without rooting. Prolly gonna eventually root, for launcher and remove the ~~ads~~Special Offers.

Can you sideload a launcher apk without rooting?

BTW, my V10 is unrooted. Every now and then I want something root related (this dpi is huge) but for the most part it hasn't been necessary.

Dunno. I can sideload APKs in general but I don't know if a launcher would work.

Been taking RAW pics and developing them with Lightroom (now free on Android). Shits fun.

Also, random free Cardboard that I ordered from Mini a LONG time ago just showed up. It makes me dizzy but it's pretty cool lol

Cao, if you downloaded the play store then never mind lol, you can just install Nova from there.

Cez, a little but I just checked my wife's Note 5 and it's just as wobbly. I think that's just how they are.

Was charging phone in beothers truck and the shit kept disconnecting. Wasnt sure if it was the inverter or my connection

Hmm definitely haven't had that happen. I've charged in the car with inverter and Samsung cable, at home with various chargers/cables, and at work with Asus charger and moto cable. So far it's been fine.

Does it work fine at home and in your car?

Was able to get one of the star wars cardboard Google was giving out yesterday. Got the storm trooper one.

Now I want to root so I can install adblock and move some shit to SD but it turns out I can't. Should have rooted first before ever connecting to wifi and allowing system update. Latest 5.1.1 OS not rootable. With my luck it never will be.

I had no idea USB OTG adapters are so cheap. $0.85 shipped for a plain one, or $1.74 shipped for a 3-pack, or one that has two ports and a power input for $2.42, etc. Gonna use my USB borescope with my new tablet instead of the clunky old netbook.

Get one that allows power. That way you can use device with OTG cable and other USB device while not having to rotate between power and USB OTG. My USB otg is only 1 USB.

The ones I saw with power inputs don't provide power to the phone/tablet, only to the USB device attached.

Yeah, that's a limitation with the phone or USB standard or something. It can't pull power to the phone and push power out at the same time. I know that there was a custom kernel for the Galaxy Nexus that allowed it though.

I think SlimPort and MHL allow it too on devices that support those.

Good news: Someone figured out root for the new firmware version on my Fire.

Bad news: I botched it and now it is stuck at the boot animation. I still have adb and root so it should be possible to fix, but not until someone helps me figure it out.
