I saw that. That's fucking nuts. Stores with dozens of varieties and pounds of it on hand...people with huge gardens...a school to learn how to grow it...

Why, but thats when it is illegal. If and when it becomes legal, there will be tons of growers and you know how it works with cost and demand. A grower couldn't sell it for what he can today.

I agree that growers won't make as much when it is legal but at the same time, there are others who would love to smoke but don't because its illegal or they can't get caught with it at their job (same reason essentially). So once it is legal, there will be an increase in the people using it, albeit not a huge increase.
I'd smoke if it were legal
