---------- Post added at 08:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:13 PM ---------- In RI, runs good but for parts only means frame rotted to dust.

Can't do anything in parking lot, it's in the lease. Wouldn't want to anyway.

Ok, so do it in parents yard across town.
I've had my dad and a friend both come to my place to do shit in my yard because they had the same problem as you (and because I'm the one with the tools and, kinda, knowledge).

dad has a barn with winch hanging from the ceiling and an oil pit underneath. I still don't want to swap the engine on my own.

Quit being pussy wan. If you can read and type, you can swap the motor. I'm sure their are a million "how to's" on that car. I have never personally done one but they are all the same. Weekend job, especially on a big ass car like that. Not very tight and the fact that there are millions of taxis, I'd say they are prob very easy to work on. Maybe mexicanic fucked your shit up not you....have someone punch you in the stomach and knock your ovaries back down to your testicles where they were before the mexicanic.

How many fucking times am I going to say that I'm not swapping the engine myself.
I don't have the money to buy an engine if it's going to end up being half assed because I fucked up somewhere or the engine had something wrong with it. I don't know shit about engines. Besides the possible waste of time/money, I can't go out in the garage after work and play with it if something isn't right afterwards, I need to drag it across town. It also can't have any check engine lights or it won't pass emissions and they won't let me register it. This would be my only vehicle if I go that route, I need it to be reliable. I'm not going to spend the little money I have on an unknown quality engine to be put in by someone who doesn't know what he is doing (me). I'm also not going to spend $2k for one of these shops to do it, the car isn't worth that much. If this was a cherry 2011 CV or something else that was worth more then it would be worth spending more money/time on. I know that all of you who have either done it before or have done similar shit or have extra vehicles don't fucking understand. I get it. You would all swap your own engine in. I know it would be the cheapest route. If I knew someone I trusted to do it in their garage I'd be paying them to install a new motor or help me do it, but I don't. The smarter idea in my situation is to take the little tracker that I know runs fine. Put a little money into it to make it what we want. Sell the CV and save a little and buy a nice newer one with a matching interior, paint not falling off, dual exhaust, etc. and end up with less hassle. Yes I'll spend a bit more in the long run but I end up with a nicer CV and a little beater on the side. Fuck. Sent from my LG-D801

Heard the ovaries thing the other night and have just been waiting to use that mafuckah.. Anywho, I can understand where you at with the car, we just trying to give a little motivation. I don't know shit about running a computer, can barley navigate to the forum and look around. I can, however, fix the mechanic side of them, screens, hdd, ram, etc. so I know where you coming from seeing as you are IT guy and simple shit to you seems way to complicated to me.

I'm actually kinda excited to see what I can do with the Tracker. There's lots of info online about Sidekicks/Trackers.
It already has pioneer speakers all the way around and sub wiring. Already tinted. Needs an EGR valve, some A/C love, and I think that's it. Kinda want to put a small body lift and some meaty tires on it lol but idk its a 2wd 4dr. Sent from my LG-D801

a 1" or 2" body lift and slightly larger tires is fine for a 2wd wtf ---------- Post added at 09:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:54 AM ---------- something like this No body lift on that one, just coil spacers in the back and some different springs/shocks/struts.

I don't see a problem with it. Does it make it an off-road beast? No. Does it give you a better view of traffic, make it look a little nicer in your eyes, etc? Then go for it. IMO

i just said its cheaper to fix what you got than buy new foo. even if you payed a place to do it. you could buy another cv and it blow up trans die rear end lock up brake lines blow ecm die ac comp crap out week after you got it. you are not going to find as good as car as yours for what it would cost to fix yours unless you go quite a bit older or just luck up.
