I've tried them but it seems all they're really good for is making the phone reboot a few times a day. Feels like there's not much that can be done on top of stock anymore.

I've been reading and apparently the kernel that came with 4.2.2 was a pretty big improvement

I can't tell a difference in the stock kernel or Faux. Only thing stock doesn't have is color and sound adjustment.

Whatever comes with the ROM I flash. The last PUB build of AOKP I flashed came with leanKernel, no problems. Some other builds came with faux.

Got wifeys last upgrade at BB. Everything went smoothly and got the phone for free instead of the $100 that VZW wanted.

Sitting on my desk next to my laptop. Went to unlock my phone and the screen didn't respond. Noticed the captivate buttons not on. Held power button for 10 seconds or how ever long.......nothing

Second attempt to long press power button to turn on or reboot. Worked.

Somehow it decided to turnoff by itself.

Phone was sitting with nothing running in background, over wifi.

After that it's fine. Working normal.

probably the costco one, they always bundle some generic accessories with phones but probably costs more there
