 scared the piss out of me...going up a decent grade on the 10E...engine started ticking pretty bad...slowed down, kinda went away....gave it gas and came back...so slowed way the fuck down...enough to where big rigs started passing me  pulled in to rest area, popped hood and no smoke, no noise any more. Never made that sound again  only thing diff i did this oil change was use a "high mileage" oil filter...supposed to have some sort of oil additive i think ima pull that shit off and run a normal motorcraft

no, felt like top end was starving for oil....rockers were knocking pretty bad....mostly passenger side
no loss of hp or anyuthing like that...just noise that went completely away after le rest area stop

Weird Eddeh. le Mazda has done similar before, where i'd crank it up and the lifters would tick like it was going to shit itself, then i'd shut it down + restart and it'd go away.

filter im using...dude has concerns about goo blocking le oil....think this is what happened cuz it never did that with regular fram/motorcraft filter

I just use regular Purolator filters and Motorcraft 15w40 in
 eddeh. never a problem
