having the entire drivetrain removable like that is pretty BAMF though and not having a hump running through the car is pretty nice

one joke nice
That article doesn't sound bad at all. Tesla called for the investigation, it wasn't required by law. No one was hurt. When the fires happened, they were towards the front of the car, not the passenger compartment. The cars shut down and gave passengers plenty of time to get out. Tesla added fire damage to their warranty for peace of mind and pushed out a software update that makes the car ride a little higher at freeway speeds since the fires were caused by the car being low at high speeds and hitting debris on the highway. Tesla seems like legit company.

but for the price one pays for that car...I would expect to not have to worry about my car spontaneously combusting into flames out of the blue. Don't get me wrong...would love to have one of these...hell it has beaten ZL1 Camaro in 1/4 mile in real life tests...

Make the car ride higher is better than a skid plate or moving the fuse somewheres else?

No but its something they can easily push to every car with zero effort from the consumer since the cars all have 3G. I think.

Yeah, software update is quick and easy and no trouble...and it's not like the car is jacked up all the time, prolly just a little higher when on the highway.
