My point is you shouldn't be 10 years out of college still paying loans.

You are being duped. They tell you you'll get a great paying job right out of college and that job will pay you enough money to get your loans paid off in a couple years. That's not the case.

When you finish paying of the student loans you'll probably be at the age where you decide to buy a house so here comes another load of debt.

You weren't put on earth to pay off loans your whole life.
