Would definitely need to do it while the car is making the noise, obviously. Can be tough, my truck makes a belt or alternator noise randomly but never when I can try to find it.

Tensioner is bad. Belt dressing will ruin the belt and coat the pulleys in shit making it squeal way louder later. Replace the belt and tensioner. Clean the pulleys with some brake clean and a paint brush.

Yup. WD40 sucks, and if something is repaired by WD40 you've got a bigger problem and it will probably return. Fuck WD40.
Also, oil supposedly is bad for belts. I recommend carrying a spare belt and whatever tools you need. And probably replacing that tensioner.

yeah the noise from my belt always stops when any kind of liquid is applied
old mechanic guy said his late model dodge truck does the same thing and there's really nothing to do. He also said to never use wd-40 cuz it'll just fuck it up and dry it out. He told me he sprays his with armor-all every so often to keep the chirp/squeel away. Told me to buy a bottle of original armor-all spray and try it out. Have tried. Satisfied cao, you drive gb...leave nao |

Armor All? Well, it can't be as bad as WD40.

Yeah the old guy gives a bunch of easy/cheap remedies instead of making shit up and having you pay for some dumbass repair all the time
He was the one that told me to use 6 bottles of fuel injection cleaner when CV was acting funny. Total cost...less than $30. Worked fine Also refilled my brake fluid when I didn't realize it was low. Made the gay light stop coming on randomly |
