Wrong-wheel drive.
Actually, a lot of it is that FWD is a different skill set and the car usually has a different balance. When you're going around that turn and the car's pushing and you're bummed because you can't lay on the go-pedal to kick the rear out, you do have another option. It's violent and scary and incredibly dangerous (more than a regular powerslide in RWD) but you can get on that go-pedal just like you would in RWD, but instead of countersteering, hold your steering angle or steer even harder into the turn. You give up your tire's lateral traction and trade it for acceleration traction -- but keep in mind the direction that those tires are accelerating the front end of the car. You really get committed, you can't easily abort. I used to do that shit. You may already be familiar with a similar technique for understeer in 4WD if you've driven on snow. So glad I roll RWD/4WD, but I did get pretty good at FWD.

What i used to do is as soon as it was cut to enough angle to take the curve is nail it and let it push out the front. In effect straightening the curve. Bad thing is sometimes it would try to push to far. Also the when you would brake hard to start to turn in the apex of a curve the backend would step out. Which any car would that but a fwd would usually be impossible to straighten back up and come on around. Cause your only save is nail the gas let the front pull back straight and hope you dont plow it or ride it out. Half the time it does the exact opposite of what you want anyhow. I turned that green grand prix around on a 2 lane doing about 80. Iaid and gas attemped drive out of by cutting opposite of curve. Ended up going opposite direction at 40 mph. Did no damage to the car. Had it been rwd all id have to done is let off and correct.

:hoofbump: Good to see somebody else has real experience and understanding of how FWD works.

I wouldn't have described the FWD fauxerslide as "violent" if it was on snow, the violence is the screaming tires and engine.
