View Full Version : Rant: Why can't e-bills be delivered to my email?

If I get old-fashioned paper bills/statements, they get delivered to my mailbox on plain paper. They are handled by dozens of people along the way. They can be opened and resealed without leaving evidence just by using some steam. Anyone can walk up to my mailbox, take my bills, and walk away. It is unencrypted. It is their responsibility to get it to me even if someone else messes with it. All I have to do is open it and look at it.

If I get e-bills/statement, I get a notification in my password-protected email box. I have to go to the website, login with another password and often other hurdles, then download a PDF (often using some awful download link that doesn't work well). It is my responsibility to retrieve it myself. It's the same with every company.

WTF? Why can't they email an attachment? It would not be handled by any people and would be protected the whole way.
