So I'm sorting old files that I've had on various hard drives for years and I found this letter I wrote in 2003:

Dear Sir or Madam:

Your collection attempt is erroneous. Due to service issues with your client, Columbia House, I returned the unopened product to them and requested that they cease attempting to collect from me. I have not yet received a response.

Enclosed are copies of the letter I wrote to Columbia House, the letter you wrote to me, and the tracking confirmation for the item and letter I sent to Columbia House.

You are hereby notified under provision of public laws 95-109 and 99-361, also known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices act, that your services are no longer needed. This is your final notice.

Your organization may no longer contact me in any form concerning the above referenced account number. I will only settle this account with the original creditor.

Failure to comply with this law will result in my filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and my state's Attorney general's Office. I will be detailed and pursue all criminal and civil claims against you and your company. I will also document all contact to enforce these laws.

If any negative credit information is placed with any credit reporting bureau by your company after the date of your receiving this Cease and Desist letter, a lawsuit against you and your company for all legal remedies afforded me by law will result.

Wow. I was a BAMF! I don't think I could write that now.

I don't remember what happened with that situation but a couple years later my credit was great and I bought a house.

:jester: ...some srs talk right there.

Reminds me of a letter I wrote to a POS CC company that tried to negative bill my dads company, and then proceed to try and ruin our rating for non payment, of the negative billing, that we never even received.

Scummy CC companeez. :nono:
