Does not sample Daryl Hall's vocals from:

d1RcRglBaHA

(according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaching_Out_(Nero_song))

...though apparently it does borrow other samples from that song. The vocals were actually sung for Nero by Hall:
"Drafted out by Daniel Stephens, he had an original vision in his mind of sampling Daryl Hall's voice. The office next door to Nero's was occupied by the producer for Hall's latest solo album, Laughing Down Crying, who agreed to put the pair in touch. Hall hence agreed to lay down a full original set of vocals, recorded by Nero and Joseph Ray.[1]"

Not a sample because they didn't sample it from PF's recording. Not a cover because they're only using part of it in part of their song. Not sure what you'd call it.

Actually, the portion they used doesn't seem to be exactly covered either, more that it just sounds a lot like a PF song.

For a similar example, check this shit:
Shooter Jennings - Busted In Baylor County; at 2:08 you hear a couple seconds of a riff from Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf"
adADHltRB6g

In live versions he plays 10-30 seconds of the song and sings "All right now!" as Ozzy did.

Original:
H3YtvuZ2-I0

In this case I'd call it a shout out to Black Sabbath, but what DMB did was more...not sure what to call that.

Halp!

At various times in this song (I identified one specific occurrence at 3:31) there's a sample or possibly a freshly performed imitation, a backing vocalist saying "I can't wait forever" or "I can't wait for, no". I think it's from a late 1980s rap or house/pop song, possibly similar in style to "It Takes Two" by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock. The song randomly gets stuck in my head but the only lyrics I can make out from the gibberish I can replay in there are the words sampled here. WTF SONG IS IT FROM?

Whosampled is the first place I go when I have a quextion like that, but no bueno. Says it samples at 4:22 of Cold Sweat by James Brown (1967) and is a remix of Feeling the Love by Reactor (2004) (not sure "remix" is the right word, but anyway...). Neither one is remotely close to being the song.

---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 AM ----------

Oh, and trivia related to that other song:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(song)#Background
Columbia Pictures was later the defendant in a copyright infringement lawsuit, also naming Parker which claimed "Ghostbusters" was too similar in musical structure to "I Want a New Drug," written and performed by Huey Lewis and the News (more specifically, the bass/guitar riff which runs through the song). "I Want a New Drug" was a U.S. top-ten hit earlier the same year and was extremely similar to "Pop Muzik" by M, a project by Robin Scott.[1] The two parties settled out of court. Details of the settlement (specifically, that Columbia Pictures paid Lewis a settlement) were confidential until 2001, when Lewis commented on the payment in an episode of VH1's Behind the Music. Parker subsequently sued Lewis for breaching confidentiality.[2]
