Yep. I don't have jack stands or anywhere to change it myself, so I actually have to break down and have it done. Realistically it would have cost me in the neighborhood of the same price...about $60 for oil and $15 for the filter.

Hell of a lot better than the stealership though...$250

Why is it $180? I my truck doesn't even cost that much? Is it because you have an import beamer?

Full synthetic oil, specific type of filter, + $45 labor for .5 hrs. Yes, it's becasue it's a bimmer.

Even my VW with its weird filter, full synthetic oil, and oddities in the oil change procedure doesn't cost $100 at a dealer to change the oil. It's under $70.

I DIY in my yard. I do have jack stands, but next time I'm going to try driving it onto a few planks and see if that gets it high enough.

I took my shit to Jiffy Lube last time simply because I was too lazy to do it myself. $60 included topping off other fluids :pepper: of course thats non-synthetic and a filter that ran on these trucks from 88-99 :rofl2: not very specific

that will NOT help your wheel situation :blah:

Why do you drive up onto cinderblocks with your truck? Do you get a midget to stand up underneath it?

My truck, I just crawl under...stock height is enough clearance for my fat ass.

Not mine. I just drive up on blocks to give extra room to move aorund.

And screw the crooked wheel. i give no more of a shit about it

Oh trust me...before I moved to Cali, I did change my oil myself. I live in an apartment now and don't have any jackstands anymore...nor do I have access to a lift like I used to. I only change it once every 5000 miles anyways. BMW recommends 15,000 on their service intervals, so I figure 5k and I'm good...the oil doesn't get that dirty by then anyways.

I haven't had to pay for my oil changes on both my rides for over 2 years now. I got them with 32 free oil changes from the dealership. ;)

I have only used like 5 or 6 of them on each vehicle. :rocking:

stonehenge
02-13-2009, 04:22 PM
damn 32 each? What are the intervals on those 2 rides?

Johnny Utah
02-13-2009, 05:32 PM
Free oil changes FTW! If I ever buy a new BMW, then I'lll be covered under the service plan.....buuuuuut, again they only recommend 15,000 miles, so any above and beyond that I would have to pay for
